This particular role is for a Margaux Food Server within the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, a distinguished hotel under the Marriott brand. The position is part-time, requiring availability to work various shifts, including weekends. The role offers competitive compensation, with a base pay of $5.49 per hour plus tips. The Margaux Food Server is primarily responsible for fulfilling daily restaurant operations which encompass table maintenance, guest satisfaction, and various back-of-house tasks. This role requires adherence to Marriott Quality Assurance Standards and guest service protocols, emphasizing teamwork and quality service in every guest interaction. The server's duties include a variety of service methods such as counter service, food running, and table service, along with supporting restaurant setup and cleanup processes. A key aspect of the role is maintaining health and safety standards by following health department specifications, conducting temperature logs, rotating products, and managing waste responsibly. This includes maintaining a neat and professional appearance, punctuality, and active participation in team communications and meetings.
Moreover, servers are expected to embody the Marriott’s Steps of Service in all guest interactions, demonstrating urgency and problem-solving capabilities to resolve guest concerns with minimal supervision. Job Duties
- Provide restaurant service including counter service, food running, table service, and deliveries
- Maintain daily setup and breakdown of the restaurant by following checklists
- Know each menu item and its ingredients, including bar specials and 86'd items
- Stay aware of local events and offer suggestions to guests
- Follow and maintain Health Department specifications, including temperature logs and product rotation
- Strive to exceed guest satisfaction and provide the best possible service
- Understand all facets of job responsibilities and possess skills to complete tasks
