Job Description
Four Seasons is a globally recognized luxury hospitality company, renowned for its commitment to exceptional service and world-class experiences. Established as a leader in the hotel and resort industry, Four Seasons operates over 120 hotels and resorts, alongside 46 residential properties worldwide, spanning major city centers and exclusive resort destinations across 47 countries. The company is celebrated for its emphasis on a culture rooted in respect, dignity, and genuine heart, where its employees are empowered to create lasting impressions for guests, residents, and partners. This philosophy translates into a remarkable and engaging workplace that prioritizes employee satisfaction, development, and a strong sense of community. Four Seasons values the diversity and inclusion of minorities, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities, ensuring equal employment opportunities across all levels.
Located in Minneapolis, the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Minneapolis shines prominently in the city's skyline, strategically positioned at the confluence of business and leisure on Nicollet Mall, near the Mississippi River. This newly constructed, luxurious 37-story mixed-use development not only serves as a lavish hotel and residence complex but also accommodates RBC Wealth Management's US headquarters. The hotel offers a distinctive Mediterranean-inspired dining experience led by acclaimed local chef Gavin Kaysen, features an exclusive wellness floor with indoor and outdoor pools, and a dedicated spa focused on natural nourishment. Guests and residents alike benefit from the hotel's sophisticated environment, highlighted by 19,400 square feet of meeting space, downtown's only luxury spa, and a grand 5,000 square foot pool deck.
The position of Sous Chef at Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis offers a rare opportunity to join an elite pre-opening culinary team and contribute to one of the premier luxury hotel brands in the world. Reporting to both the Chef de Cuisine and the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef plays a vital junior management role within the kitchen department of the Mara Restaurant. The role’s responsibilities include overseeing the entire culinary operation, ensuring that menu standards and food quality remain impeccable, and acting as a critical link between the executive chefs and the kitchen staff. Day-to-day tasks may span from training and mentoring cooks, managing inventory, coordinating food production flow, to enforcing safety and sanitation standards. Flexibility and the ability to assume leadership roles during the absence of senior chefs are essential for this position. The successful candidate will benefit greatly from experience in various food service environments and a formal culinary arts background. In addition, the role offers a competitive salary of $70,907.05 along with comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, exciting training and development opportunities, complimentary accommodations at other Four Seasons locations, employee meals, and dry cleaning for uniforms. Aspiring culinary professionals seeking to advance their careers within a supportive and distinguished hospitality brand will find this role rewarding and dynamic.
