Job Description
Anheuser-Busch is a leading American manufacturer known for its legacy of brewing high-quality, great-tasting beers for more than 165 years. The company is home to some of the nation’s most iconic beer brands such as Michelob ULTRA, America’s number one top-selling beer, Busch Light, Budweiser, Bud Light, Stella Artois, Cutwater Spirits, as well as numerous industry-leading craft brands. Beyond brewing, Anheuser-Busch is deeply committed to supporting American farmers, military personnel, veterans, first responders, and various community initiatives, including emergency drinking water donations and responsible drinking programs. Employing around 65,000 dedicated Americans nationwide, the company thrives on a culture of passion, teamwork, and forward-looking innovation, always dreaming bigger to meet life's moments.
At Anheuser-Busch, you become part of a dynamic team that dreams as big as you do and is empowered by access to resources and opportunities to unleash your full potential. The brewery operations team is focused on brewing, packaging, and shipping iconic beer brands with world-class speed and uncompromising standards for both safety and quality. Working in a fast-paced environment that involves high-speed lines and tight schedules, employees are expected to perform at peak levels of efficiency and reliability.
The Controls and Instrumentation Technician role is integral to the operational success of Anheuser-Busch's supply chain activities. This full-time, hourly position offers a competitive starting rate of $39.38 per hour, increasing to $40.08 after 60 days. There is potential for an additional $3.00 per hour increase after a successful 2-year contractual technical assessment. Employees have the option to sign up for full weekend and holiday overtime (excluding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day), enabling average annual earnings of up to $100,000-$130,000. Shift assignments are based on seniority and preference, covering first, second, and third shifts, with holiday and weekend availability required.
In this role, the technician supports, maintains, and troubleshoots automated systems that underpin the brewery’s operations, including PLCs, instrumentation devices, power distribution up to 480 volts 3-phase, and high-speed production equipment. Responsibilities include preventive and predictive maintenance tasks aimed at improving equipment reliability and minimizing downtime. The technician will calibrate, install, and maintain analytical instruments, interpret technical documentation such as electrical schematics and equipment manuals, and perform repairs using precision tools. A key function is to analyze equipment data to diagnose root causes of issues and recommend continuous improvements. The role demands proficiency with SAP and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to log maintenance work and track parts.
The technician works closely with production teams to prioritize maintenance tasks that uphold safety, quality, and operational goals, actively contributing to continuous improvement projects aligned with performance metrics. Mechanical tasks like bearing and chain replacements, gearbox repairs, valve and pump maintenance, and lubrication are also part of the job. Adherence to all plant safety and sanitation procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), is paramount. Critical to success in this position is the ability to self-schedule maintenance work effectively around production demands to meet both production and maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs).
