We are currently seeking Manufacturing Technicians to join our dynamic Bakery & Sandwich Making team on the day shift. This full-time role offers a competitive base rate of $23.94 per hour, and is designed for motivated, team-oriented individuals ready to contribute to producing high-quality sandwich products in a fast-paced, hands-on setting. As a Manufacturing Technician at Smucker, you will play an essential role in maintaining product quality, ensuring safety, and supporting seamless production flow in a high-performance environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include operating and adjusting machinery, performing routine quality tests, maintaining accurate production records, and troubleshooting equipment issues. You will also perform essential sanitation and maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and changeovers to guarantee that production standards are consistently met. The role emphasizes continuous learning and development through cross-training opportunities to enhance your skill set and advance your career. You will collaborate closely with your peers and Area Leader to drive operational excellence while working within a safety-conscious and inclusive culture.
This position requires physical endurance to work 12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM to 6:30 PM), including frequent walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and bending. Candidates must be comfortable working with materials such as flour, yeast, oils, and peanut butter and able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. The work environment varies in temperature and noise levels, with required adherence to safety and hearing conservation programs.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, good manufacturing practices, and general instructions
- good communication skills both verbally and written
- ability to perform critical thinking skills to problem solve and resolve conflicts
- ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and team-oriented environment
- ability to perform the essential job functions consistent with safety standards and practices with or without reasonable accommodation
- ability to work 12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM-6:30 PM)
- ability to squat or kneel and to bend frequently
- ability to tolerate exposure to flour and yeast, oils, and peanut butter as well as other materials
- ability to lift plus 50 pounds occasionally
- must pass occupational physical test
- minimum 20/40 vision in each eye with or without corrective lenses
- must pass standard eye exam

Job Duties
- Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner
- perform routine tests to check the quality of products, record findings, and adjust equipment settings as necessary to maintain quality standards
- use computers to input and maintain accurate records and data and HMI (Human Machine Interface) to adjust operational settings
- identify and troubleshoot machinery, process, and equipment issues and make corrections as needed
- perform sanitation and basic maintenance activities including cleaning, inspection, and lubrication (CIL), clean-in-place (CIP), and clean-out-of-place (COP) activities on a routine basis
- cross train within department to gain and improve skills, knowledge, and demonstrate leadership
- operate material handling equipment such as walk behind stackers, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and waves
- perform equipment changeovers and empty or replenish materials to keep production flowing
