The Manufacturing Excellence Manager at Nestlé Health Science is a pivotal leadership role focused on driving performance improvements within factory operations. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, this position is responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of a comprehensive factory-wide continuous improvement strategy under the Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) framework. The manager acts as a vital center of expertise for Industrial Performance and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader market priorities and factory objectives.
This role requires a strategic visionary who can lead the design and implementation of industrial performance systems, including labor utilization studies, asset intensity tracking, SAP BOM/master data accuracy, and planning rate reviews. The Manufacturing Excellence Manager spearheads the creation and embedding of NCE projects aligned with factory goals to enhance manufacturing standards, governance, and results. Strong capabilities in change management and workforce competence development are essential, as the manager coaches factory leadership and local teams to apply manufacturing methodologies such as TPM, Lean, and World Class Manufacturing.
Further responsibilities include leading strategic planning efforts, maintaining data reliability, supporting factory cost controls, facilitating project sponsorships, and collaborating closely with the Market Manufacturing Excellence Director to accelerate continuous improvement gains. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in manufacturing or continuous improvement environments, preferably within food, consumer packaged goods, or pharmaceutical sectors, combined with advanced problem-solving skills, digital tool proficiency, and a proven track record of managing complex projects in challenging environments.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, engineering or related field
- 8+ years experience in manufacturing or continuous improvement environment
- experience in food, CPG or pharmaceutical industry preferred
- 2+ years direct production or maintenance floor experience
- 2+ years working with factory management or leadership teams
- 2+ years project management and advanced problem-solving experience
- knowledge of Goal Alignment, TPM and Lean implementation
- proficiency with digital tools such as Power BI, SAP master data and MES
- strong leadership and cultural change management skills
- ability to learn manufacturing processes quickly and identify areas of opportunity
- experience with budget preparation, labor standards and line capability studies
- excellent problem-solving skills
- demonstrated success in leading change
- capability with World Class Manufacturing methods and implementation

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, engineering, or related field
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification desired
- minimum 8 years experience in manufacturing or continuous improvement environment
- experience in food, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or pharmaceutical industries preferred
- at least 2 years direct production or maintenance floor experience
- 2+ years working with factory management and leadership teams
- 2+ years project management experience including loss intelligence and advanced problem solving
- familiarity with Goal Alignment, TPM, and Lean implementation
- strong digital literacy including Power BI, SAP master data, MES and data analytics
- proven ability in cultural change management
- strong problem-solving capabilities
- demonstrated ability to lead change in challenging environments
- experience with TPM, Lean, and World Class Manufacturing methodologies and deployment
- skilled in project management
Job Duties
- Develop and execute the factory-wide continuous improvement strategy under Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE)
- build and maintain industrial performance systems and routines including labor utilization studies
- ensure data reliability including SAP BOM/master data accuracy and planning rate reviews
- lead the development of the factory's strategic operational management plan and improvement initiatives
- cascade priorities and measures from market to factory ensuring alignment
- embed NCE projects into factory objectives and align leadership teams accordingly
- establish governance frameworks to track and deliver business results
- support competency building plans fostering autonomy at all organizational levels
- coach and train factory and local leadership teams in manufacturing competencies such as GA, FI, TPM 7+4, and standards
- manage and sponsor projects to improve performance around factory priorities
- collaborate with factory cost controller on costing standards
- partner with Market Manufacturing Excellence Director to advance NCE implementation
