Manufacturing Distribution Supervisor- 2nd Shift

This role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Logistics Supervisor based in Ontario to join Ventura Foods in a salaried, onsite position working the second shift. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide day-to-day supervision of all operational activities related to picking, loading, receiving, unloading, warehousing, storage, housekeeping, sanitation, safety, security, and quality assurance across all work shifts in the distribution department. The Logistics Supervisor will play a critical role in managing the drop trailer yard, ensuring accuracy and control in operations including the welcome center check-in and check-out processes. This leadership role requires a hands-on, proactive approach to supervising departmental staff to achieve accurate and complete order fulfillment, maximize labor efficiency, uphold high-quality standards, and ensure overall customer satisfaction.

Key duties include supervising the daily activities of receiving, storing, and shipping finished products, supporting the Sales Coordinator in resolving customer complaints originating from the warehouse, and effectively utilizing manpower, equipment, and facilities to maintain smooth distribution operations. The role involves optimizing stock layout for efficient workflow, implementing and participating in safety programs to prevent workplace accidents, maintaining compliance with housekeeping and sanitation regulations, and conducting regular inspections. The Logistics Supervisor will also assist management in evaluating warehouse functions such as shipping, receiving, order selection, and clerical duties, recommending improvements to increase productivity and reduce non-productive efforts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for hiring, training, and appraising warehouse personnel, maintaining compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMPs), and ensuring inventory accuracy through routine audits and investigations of errors. Oversight of shipping schedules, documentation, and clerical activities, as well as strict adherence to food safety policies including SQF code, GMPs, and the Food Safety Modernization Act, are integral to this role. The position may require some travel and demands physical capability consistent with warehouse and distribution work environments involving lifting, standing, walking, and wearing personal protective equipment.
