The Blending Operator role at Piping Rock Health Products is pivotal to the manufacturing process of various liquid-based health supplements. Under the direction of a supervisor, this position involves the precise measurement and blending of raw ingredients following strict job and mixing instructions. The operator is responsible for ensuring that all products are manufactured within the established specifications, paying close attention to quality control by accurately completing all required documentation, including batch sheets for traceability. This role demands a thorough understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), adherence to FDA and state regulations, as well as a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment to prevent cross-contamination.

Blending Operators will work closely with Quality Assurance teams to meet and uphold industry standards, ensuring that every batch produced aligns with customer expectations and regulatory requirements. The position also involves sanitizing the blending rooms and equipment regularly according to GMP standards, as sanitation is critical to product safety and quality. The operator is expected to handle physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in an environment that can be physically challenging. Flexibility for overtime work is sometimes required to meet production deadlines.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • 1+ year experience in a manufacturing environment with blending powdered food materials
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours
  • Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment
  • Must comply with GMP requirements
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • Flexibility for overtime when needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • 1+ year experience in a manufacturing environment with blending powdered food materials
  • Ability to use calculator and other measurement instruments
  • Basic computer skills a plus
  • Flexibility for overtime when needed
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • Ability to work autonomously and use resources available to complete tasks timely
  • Must comply with GMP requirements
  • specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training

Job Duties

  • Verify all the raw ingredients are present before beginning the weighing process
  • Weigh each ingredient and add to the vessel in the specified order according to the job and mixing instructions
  • Accurately document all lot numbers for each component onto a batch sheet for traceability purposes
  • Communicate and work together with QA to maintain all standards and practices of the food industry in accordance with FDA and State regulations
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times to prevent cross contamination and build up
  • Comply and adhere to all GMP policies and safety procedures
  • Accurately measure conversions and ingredients
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment according to GMP standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
