Job Requirements

  • Pass employment testing
  • Must sign Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
  • Reside or willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the territory
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to read, write, speak English

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, hospitality, culinary arts or related discipline OR high school diploma/GED with 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience or equivalent relatable experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship
  • Bi-lingual preferred
  • Experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or as a chef preferred
  • Valid driver's license with company insurability standards
  • Current automobile insurance meeting liability requirements

Job Duties

  • Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth
  • Seek and qualify prospects following company account stratification goals
  • Research customer business needs and develop product and service mixes to meet those needs
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers based on business goals
  • Stay informed on market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' offerings and share information with customers
  • Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, and use
  • Provide product information and training to customer personnel
  • Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and meetings
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary and coordinate with credit department
  • Manage deliveries according to company routing schedules and troubleshoot order process issues
  • Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and events
  • Attend sales and district meetings and engage in ongoing training sessions
  • Assist with training new employees
  • Review and analyze sales reports and customer data
  • Perform administrative duties including preparing sales budgets, maintaining records, processing credits and requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
