The role of Assistant Restaurant Manager is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant. This full-time position carries significant responsibilities including overseeing the daily activities such as scheduling labor, ordering food and supplies, and fostering a cohesive and motivated restaurant team. The individual in this role will ensure compliance with OSHA, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security protocols. Inventory oversight, labor management, financial reviews, and taking corrective measures where necessary are integral parts of the job.
Additionally, the Assistant Restaurant Manager will work closely with the Human Resources function to ensure adherence to labor laws and HR best practices. Key people management responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, conducting performance appraisals, providing counseling, motivating, and training team members – including developing future Assistant Managers. The role includes driving sales growth by implementing effective Local Store Marketing strategies and fostering community engagement to exceed sales targets. Equipment, facility, and grounds maintenance following a preventative upkeep program also fall under the assistant manager’s purview.
This franchise management position requires a candidate with at least six months of managerial experience or one year of general management experience in a comparable concept, or a recommendation from their current Area Manager. Superior oral and written communication skills, the ability to analyze financial data such as Profit and Loss Statements, and computer literacy are critical. A successful Assistant Restaurant Manager must exhibit strong leadership abilities to effectively communicate and lead their team at all levels within the restaurant.

- Controlling day to day operations including scheduling labor, ordering food and supplies, and developing the restaurant team
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security procedures
- Maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions
- Ensuring compliance with all Human Resources practices and applicable labor laws
- Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring team members, conducting performance appraisals, counseling, motivating, and training entire team including developing Assistant Managers
- Building sales to meet and exceed store plan by utilizing Local Store Marketing strategies and community involvement
- Ensuring company standards on equipment, facilities, and grounds are maintained through a preventative maintenance program
