Job Description
Family Dollar is a leading retail company operating across more than 7,000 locations, distribution centers, and a centralized Store Support Center. As part of the Dollar Tree family, Family Dollar is dedicated to providing customers with quality products at affordable prices while fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment for its employees. The company prides itself on its commitment to growth and operational excellence supported by strategic insights and data-driven decision-making. Family Dollar's expansive presence in the retail market demands timely, accurate, and actionable data to support its workforce and talent acquisition efforts at scale, making it an essential player in the evolving retail landscape.
The role of Manager - Workday Reporting & Analytics at Family Dollar is a pivotal position focused on serving as the hands-on owner of Workday reporting and people analytics for the enterprise. This full-time position reports directly to the Director of TA Operations and offers a competitive salary ranging between $109,000 and $124,000. This role is designed for a highly skilled Workday reporting expert who excels at translating complex data into meaningful insights that influence workforce planning and hiring strategies across the organization. The Manager will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable people reporting solutions by leveraging the Workday platform to support various business functions including HR, Talent Acquisition, Operations, Finance, and Legal.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong consultative approach, engaging with business leaders to not only deliver data but also provide insightful recommendations that drive decision-making. This position demands balancing technical proficiency with excellent business acumen and storytelling skills that allow for clear communication of data insights through compelling visualizations and executive-ready presentations. The role is dynamic and fast-paced, situated in a retail environment that values agility, accuracy, and strategic insight.
Key responsibilities include end-to-end management of people reporting and dashboard development related to hiring, turnover, engagement, and workforce trends. The Manager will build advanced Workday reports using tools such as Report Writer, Advanced Reports, calculated fields, and dashboards. Partnering effectively with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and Operations leaders is crucial to define key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and uncover actionable insights that support operational and strategic priorities across the enterprise.
The Manager will also ensure the accuracy, consistency, and governance of Workday reporting data while leveraging historical trends and advanced analytical techniques to inform workforce planning and retention strategies. Supporting ad hoc analytics requests with a focus on business impact will require the Manager to be flexible and responsive to evolving business needs. Collaboration with other reporting or visualization platforms like Power BI or Tableau may be necessary to extend the utility of Workday insights.
Family Dollar embraces a culture of curiosity, partnership, and practical solutions. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact by supporting leaders and teams with data that shapes hiring, growth, and workforce support across the enterprise. Candidates with 5-7+ years of experience in people analytics, HR reporting, or business intelligence—preferably with experience in retail or multi-location environments—and hands-on expertise in Workday Report Writer will find fulfilling challenges and career growth opportunities in this role. Ultimately, the Manager - Workday Reporting & Analytics helps drive the future of Family Dollar through insightful data and strategic collaboration.
