Job Description

Intermountain Health is a renowned healthcare system dedicated to providing exceptional care and community services throughout the western United States. With a commitment to innovation, compassion, and excellence, Intermountain Health operates numerous hospitals, clinics, and specialty care centers aimed at improving the health and well-being of the populations they serve. One of their respected facilities, Good Samaritan Hospital located in Lafayette, Colorado, is a medium-sized hospital known for delivering high-quality care within a supportive and community-focused environment. The hospital plays a pivotal role in advancing health outcomes through a wide range of medical and support services, reflecting Intermountain’s core mission to help people live the healthiest lives possible.

The Volunteer Manager II position at Good Samaritan Hospital is a crucial leadership role responsible for the local implementation and management of volunteer service programs and various department functions. This role specifically manages volunteer efforts in medium-sized facilities with 50 to 249 beds and volunteer programs involving 50 or more volunteers. This includes overseeing gift shop operations and additional departments or functions such as valet, guest house, shuttle, transport, guest services, and hospitality. The Volunteer Manager II ensures that hospital and community needs are met with efficient, compassionate, and quality-driven services by selecting, training, and managing volunteers and paid employees. They play an essential role in promoting engagement and development opportunities that enhance the volunteer and employee experience, contributing positively to the organizational culture and community relations.

This full-time position operates primarily Monday through Friday with occasional weekend shifts, offering an hourly pay range dependent on experience, from $29.15 to $44.98. The Volunteer Manager II collaborates closely with hospital administration and other Intermountain system leaders to align volunteer services with long-term goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include managing volunteer and paid staffing needs, tracking program and volunteer hours, overseeing financial aspects such as budgeting for capital, operations, volunteer, and personnel expenses, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. The role is fast-paced and dynamic, demanding strong leadership, communication skills, and computer literacy with a focus on delivering exceptional guest services and fostering a professional and safe environment.

Moreover, this position requires the ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and setting up equipment, communicating clearly with diverse populations, and maintaining meticulous attention to detail in various operational areas such as gift shop inventory and marketing. Intermountain Health embraces a holistic well-being culture by offering comprehensive benefits designed to support the mind, body, and spirit of its caregivers. As an equal opportunity employer, Intermountain Health values diversity and provides an AI-enhanced recruitment process to ensure fairness and efficiency in hiring, emphasizing privacy and respect for all applicants. This role not only offers a rewarding career path in hospital volunteer management but also contributes meaningfully to the vibrant community served by Good Samaritan Hospital and Intermountain Health.
