Job Description
Mayo Clinic is widely recognized as a world-class medical organization and is top-ranked in more specialties than any other care provider according to U.S. News & World Report. Established with a mission to provide the best care to patients, Mayo Clinic has grown beyond its Minnesota roots to include major campuses in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; Jacksonville, Florida; Rochester, Minnesota; and various locations under the Mayo Clinic Health System throughout Midwestern communities and international locations. Each Mayo Clinic campus is a unique community where employees thrive in both their professional and personal lives, benefitting from a supportive work culture, comprehensive benefits, and numerous opportunities for career advancement. Mayo Clinic places strong emphasis not only on patient care excellence but also on investing in its staff through competitive compensation packages and extensive benefit plans to ensure their well-being now and in the future.
The role offered is a full-time leadership position within the valet operations and general services departments at Mayo Clinic, aimed at professionals who are passionate about leading diverse teams to enhance patient and visitor experience. This position provides hands-on leadership for valet, arrival, and departure services to ensure a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment that leaves a positive lasting impression on patients and visitors. Working closely with Towne, the valet operations vendor, as well as the parking and transportation leadership team, this role focuses on improving team performance, facilitating smooth traffic flow, executing service recovery, and driving continuous improvements to support a high-quality patient experience.
Beyond valet services, this leadership role collaborates actively with related operational units, including attendants and information desks, logistics, parking enforcement, patient transport and escort, telephone operations, and transportation programs. The position entails planning, organizing, supervising, and coordinating activities within the General Services department while maintaining a customer-focused, efficient work environment. Responsibilities also include managing budgets, purchasing supplies and equipment, initiating service agreements, and ensuring compliance with all institutional and regulatory policies. This leader acts as the primary change agent for the team, effectively resolving issues before they escalate, mentoring staff, and supporting their professional growth through coaching and training.
Mayo Clinic requires this position to provide excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, coupled with strong computer proficiency particularly in Microsoft Office and Excel. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines and demonstrate leadership qualities such as team building, problem-solving, and an ability to influence positive outcomes effectively. Experience with lean management or Six Sigma methodologies is an additional asset, supporting Mayo Clinic's commitment to process improvement and operational excellence.
The role offers a competitive salary range of $82,908.80 to $124,467.20 annually, classified as exempt, with eligibility for comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, pre-tax savings plans, and retirement packages. It is a structured schedule, generally Monday through Friday, with 80 hours per pay period and weekend work as needed to support continuous operations. This opportunity is ideal for supervisors who seek a fulfilling leadership role within a globally respected health care provider dedicated to patient care and team excellence.
