The role at Tropical Smoothie Cafe Hampton is the Assistant Manager position, designed for an individual who is ready to take on a leadership role with an opportunity to grow within the company. The ideal candidate will oversee the front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations ensuring excellent guest experiences, maintaining the quality of food and beverages, and managing day-to-day cafe functions. This role demands a hands-on approach, where the manager will be actively involved in coaching and training staff, performing some cooking and smoothie making duties, as well as handling operational responsibilities such as inventory management, labor cost control, and staff scheduling.
The successful Assistant Manager will have at least two years of progressive restaurant experience including supervisory responsibilities, possess strong skills in training and developing crew members, and be knowledgeable about cost management. Serving as a key figure in the cafe, the Assistant Manager works to uphold brand standards, foster a positive working environment, and ensure safety and security for guests and team members alike. They are expected to wear an "owner's hat," managing the cafe as if it were their own business, and to be fully engaged in leading marketing and promotional activities to drive sales growth.
This position offers a dynamic and fast-paced work setting requiring flexibility for early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays with a typical workload varying between 40 and 50 hours per week depending on business needs. Job Requirements
- Two or more years of restaurant experience including supervisory roles
- Ability to train and coach crew members
- Ability to oversee day-to-day operations
- Serve Safe Certified or willing to get certification within 60 days
- Valid driver’s license
- Legally able to work within State and Federal guidelines
- Ability to multi-task and stay positive under stressful conditions
- Ability to manage food cost and labor management
- Must be willing to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
