Job Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience in transportation, delivery, or warehouse distribution
- Minimum one year of experience overseeing a workforce
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong understanding of DOT requirements
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel up to 10 percent for meetings and training
- Physical ability to perform occasional standing, walking, driving, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, grasping, manipulating, and manual dexterity tasks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- College degree preferred
- Minimum three years of transportation, delivery, or warehouse distribution experience
- Minimum one year of experience overseeing a workforce
- Experience as a driver is a plus
- Broad knowledge of transportation and delivery operations, methods, and procedures
- Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills
- Strong understanding of DOT requirements
- Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
Job Duties
- Lead with a safety mindset to ensure injury-free environment for associates and public
- Champion safety procedures, processes, and training to maintain a safety-first culture
- Oversee and develop drivers and transportation associates through coaching, training, and performance management
- Create an atmosphere that encourages upward communication and motivates associates to achieve goals
- Direct and supervise work and productivity of drivers and clerical associates
- Participate in hiring and interviewing transportation personnel
- Monitor production goals, anticipate and resolve delivery problems, and ensure DOT compliance
- Identify and eliminate waste and improve transportation processes
- Conduct routine safety and driver meetings
- Oversee maintenance of driver qualification files
- Investigate accidents and implement preventative actions
- Effectively schedule working shifts using planning tools
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
