The role of Sterile Processing Manager at Baylor Medical Center McKinney is a critical leadership position responsible for managing activities related to sterile processing, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards across multiple sites. This full-time position demands the ability to operate under 24/7 oversight of the sterile processing department to continually uphold operational excellence. The manager oversees the decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment, manages surgical supply purchasing and distribution, and maintains the preventive maintenance and correct functioning of all related equipment. This leadership role includes recruiting, training, supervising, and reviewing staff performance, along with troubleshooting daily operational challenges.

The Sterile Processing Manager works closely with surgeons and various healthcare departments to verify accurate instrumentation set-ups for surgical procedures, facilitating efficient and safe patient care. Additionally, the manager is tasked with developing and implementing communication strategies, training programs, and onboarding processes for new products, services, and staff. Ensuring strict adherence to infection control policies and regulatory requirements during all phases of processing is a top priority. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, time management skills, and a customer service-oriented mindset, capable of professional communication with medical staff, insurers, and all levels of personnel.
