The role of Manager, Starbucks at Macy's is a dynamic leadership position responsible for managing the licensed Starbucks café located inside Macy's stores. This full-time position requires a proficient leader to ensure the café operates efficiently, safely, and profitably, while maintaining the high standards of both Starbucks and Macy's Foods Division. The Manager will oversee day-to-day café operations, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales and profitability, and fostering an inclusive and motivated team culture.
This leader will be tasked with recruiting, training, and developing staff including Supervisors and Baristas, ensuring that every team member demonstrates professionalism and a commitment to Starbucks' customer connection standards along with Macy's service expectations. Operational excellence is paramount, as the Manager will handle scheduling, inventory management, cost control, and financial reporting to meet targeted budgets and surpass business goals. Compliance with food safety, sanitation regulations, and health codes is strictly maintained to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
Financial accountability is critical, including managing cash handling, point-of-sale systems, and other fiscal procedures aligned with company policies. The role also involves building strong partnerships with Macy's leadership and Starbucks District Managers to strategically align business goals and operational priorities. Upholding company values and fostering respect, acceptance, and authentic connections within the team and with customers is essential.
Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of retail, restaurant, or foodservice management experience, preferably within Starbucks or a Starbucks licensed café. Candidates must obtain certifications including ServSafe and Starbucks leadership prerequisites within the introductory period. Physical demands include lifting up to 30 pounds, standing for extended periods, and flexibility in working schedules inclusive of weekends and holidays.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of retail restaurant or food service management experience
- ServSafe certification or equivalent food handler permit
- Ability to obtain required Starbucks leadership certifications during introductory period
- Capable of physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and extended periods of standing
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
- Commitment to uphold Starbucks and Macy’s brand and operational standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of retail restaurant or food service management experience
- Starbucks or Starbucks licensed café experience preferred
- ServSafe certification or food handler permit as required by state or local health department
- Ability to obtain Barista Basics Barista Trainer Daily Ops and LS Leader certifications within introductory period
- Strong leadership and team development skills

- Knowledge of food quality safety and compliance standards

- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Oversee all aspects of café operations ensuring a safe efficient and brand-right environment that meets Starbucks Macy’s Foods Division and Health Department standards
- Recruit hire train and develop Supervisors and Baristas building a motivated and high-performing team
- Deliver exceptional customer service by modeling Starbucks customer connection standards and Macy’s service expectations
- Ensure consistent preparation presentation and merchandising of all food and beverage products in alignment with Starbucks standards
- Develop and execute schedules and labor plans that optimize productivity control costs and maintain excellent service levels
- Manage ordering receiving inventory and invoice processing to achieve targeted food and beverage costs and stay within budget
- Review financial reports and take appropriate action to meet sales expense and profit goals
- Ensure full compliance with food safety sanitation and health regulations while maintaining a clean and organized café environment
- Oversee cash handling point-of-sale operations and adherence to all financial policies and procedures
- Build strong partnerships with Macy’s leadership and Starbucks District Managers to align on strategy goals and operational priorities
- Serve as a role model in professionalism appearance communication and alignment with company values
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and ensures authentic connections with colleagues customers and communities
