Job Description
Constellation Field is a premier sports and entertainment venue located in Fort Bend County, serving the Greater Houston area. Known for hosting a wide range of events including baseball games, concerts, festivals, and a variety of special events, it stands out as one of the most unique and attractive entertainment destinations in the region. The venue boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a commitment to providing exceptional experiences for both clients and attendees. With its dynamic atmosphere and dedicated staff, Constellation Field continuously strives to maximize its appeal and usage beyond just gameday events, positioning itself as a versatile hub for community and corporate gatherings alike.
The Manager, Special Events Sales, plays a pivotal role in the continued success and growth of Constellation Field. This full-time, exempt position reports directly to the Director of Special Events and is focused on expanding the venue’s reputation as a premier special event destination. The role encompasses both sales and operational responsibilities, with an emphasis on achieving annual sales targets and ensuring smooth event execution. The manager will collaborate closely with multiple internal departments to develop and deliver innovative, engaging, and diverse non-gameday events. By fostering strong client relationships and employing creative sales strategies, the manager will contribute significantly to maximizing the venue’s revenue and community impact.
Key responsibilities include leading the development of new event concepts that enhance the venue’s portfolio, actively pursuing sales opportunities through client outreach and site tours, and managing all operational aspects of events from planning through to completion. This includes coordinating with third-party vendors for key services such as catering, security, and cleaning to ensure a seamless event experience. The manager will prepare detailed event proposals, maintain accurate documentation, and oversee post-event reporting and financial reconciliation.
This role demands excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a professional yet creative approach to presentation and problem-solving. Success in this position requires a proven track record of crafting effective sales campaigns, closing deals, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines. Candidates should have a customer-oriented mindset, anticipate client and organizational needs, and demonstrate strong project management capabilities. Given the nature of the events, the role involves working evenings, weekends, and holidays frequently to provide on-site oversight and ensure events meet the highest standards.
Working conditions combine office responsibilities with active presence in the stadium environment. Candidates must be physically capable of handling the demands of the job, including lifting items up to 75 pounds, operating maintenance tools and equipment, and enduring various weather conditions during events. This position is perfect for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to the growth and excellence of Constellation Field as a leading special events venue.
