Job Description
The Springfield Cardinals are the Double-A affiliate of the prestigious St. Louis Cardinals, an 11-time World Series Champion. Owned by Diamond Baseball Holdings, this professional baseball team is based in Springfield, Missouri, and proudly competes in the Texas League. The Springfield Cardinals have built a strong reputation by capturing the 2025 Texas League Championship, reflecting their ongoing commitment to sporting excellence. The organization emphasizes delivering championship-level experiences not only on the field but also for fans, partners, and the Springfield community. Their home, Hammons Field, is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to enhancing the overall baseball experience. Beyond athletic achievements, the Springfield Cardinals focus on fostering a dynamic, collaborative, and growth-oriented workplace environment that supports the development of their staff and ensures a positive team culture.
The Springfield Cardinals are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Marketing and Events Manager to lead the development and management of the marketing strategies, sales efforts, and execution of events at Hammons Field. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for event management and a strong drive for building relationships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and executing a broad range of events, ensuring that every detail is managed seamlessly from prospecting and contract negotiation to event completion and follow-up. This position demands a high level of personal drive, determination, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fun working environment. The Marketing and Events Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for all non-baseball events, working closely with internal teams and external partners to maximize utilization of Hammons Field throughout the year.
In this role, the candidate will be expected to cultivate and maintain strong relationships not only within the organization but also with local business communities, including the Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission, to support business development initiatives. They will be proactive in soliciting business through sales calls, networking, trade show participation, and presentations, all aimed at exceeding revenue targets. Collaboration with the marketing department is essential to creating engaging promotions and fan experiences that support both stadium events and baseball games. The candidate will also be tasked with developing tailored client proposals using modern tools, maintaining accurate event documentation, and ensuring superior customer service. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a respected minor league organization where creativity, relationship building, and operational excellence play vital roles in driving the success of the venue and the team. The Springfield Cardinals offer an environment that encourages professional growth alongside the excitement of the sports and entertainment industry.
