Job Description

Hyundai Translead is a leading manufacturer specializing in advanced trailer solutions that cater to the global transportation and logistics industry. With a strong commitment to research and development, this innovative company continuously strives to push the boundaries of trailer manufacturing by incorporating cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices. Recognized for its high-quality products and exceptional customer service, Hyundai Translead operates world-class manufacturing facilities and delivers comprehensive services designed to enhance the trailer owning lifecycle for its customers worldwide.

The company proudly emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and corporate social responsibility, positioning itself as a respected global corporate citizen dedicated to creating significant impacts beyond products. Hyundai Translead’s new manufacturing facility in Joliet, Illinois, represents a strategic expansion to meet growing industry demands and set new standards in trailer manufacturing efficiency and environmental stewardship.

The role of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager at Hyundai Translead plays a pivotal part in maintaining the integrity and safety of operations within the new Joliet facility. Initially, the EHS Manager will support the launch of the facility remotely from Illinois as an employee of the corporate office, then transition to full-time onsite responsibilities once the plant becomes operational. Offering a competitive pay range of $85,170 to $102,170, this position provides an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about environmental protection, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance.

As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for establishing a robust EHS program that encompasses all stages of the manufacturing lifecycle—from construction and startup to steady-state production. Your leadership will ensure Hyundai Translead’s compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a safety-first culture grounded in proactive risk management and continuous improvement.

This role requires a strategic mindset combined with hands-on operational expertise to develop policies, procedures, and management systems tailored to the unique challenges of a manufacturing environment. You will collaborate across departments such as operations, engineering, maintenance, and logistics to identify hazards and implement preventive measures. The position also mandates managing regulatory relations, conducting incident investigations, delivering comprehensive training programs, and driving initiatives that embed environmental stewardship into every facet of daily operations.

Hyundai Translead supports its employees with a robust benefits package including company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums, a 401(k) plan with a 4 percent employer match, flexible spending accounts, grocery allowances, and pet insurance. These benefits underscore Hyundai Translead’s commitment to the wellbeing of its workforce and their families.

Joining Hyundai Translead means being part of a dynamic team dedicated to innovation, quality, and safety—all within a collaborative and inclusive culture. The EHS Manager role offers a unique chance to influence the safety and environmental standards of a new manufacturing operation while advancing your career in a supportive and forward-thinking company.
