Job Description

Hyatt Hotels Corporation, a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, is seeking an enthusiastic Manager to join the Risk Management Department at their Chicago, IL location. Hyatt is renowned for its commitment to creating a culture of care and belonging, where employees are valued as family and guests’ experiences are transformed into memorable journeys. Since its founding in 1957, Hyatt has grown to become one of the fastest-growing hospitality brands in the world, thanks in large part to its focus on people, inclusivity, and innovation. Hyatt’s dedication to nurturing curiosity, new skills, and connection across finance, legal, operations, and other departments underscores their dynamic approach to risk management and broader business strategy.

As part of the Risk Management team, the Manager will play a critical role in supporting Hyatt’s financial governance related to global risk financing programs. This includes oversight of captive insurance operations and commercial insurance programs that are vital to the company’s financial soundness and compliance. The position involves close collaboration with teams including Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Accounting, and various external service providers such as actuaries and insurance brokers. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring that risk financing strategies align seamlessly with Hyatt’s larger business objectives while maintaining financial integrity and regulatory compliance.

The role directly contributes to Hyatt’s ongoing mission of caring for people by safeguarding the company’s assets and supporting sustainable growth. The Manager’s responsibilities encompass the preparation of monthly cash flows and forecasts, reviewing insurance program audits and financial statements for accuracy, and managing premium pricing data for captive insurance. By preparing materials for board meetings, assisting with annual budgeting, and addressing inquiries from hotels about insurance costs, the Manager ensures transparency and sound financial management across the enterprise. Additionally, the role requires managing insurance accounts payable, overseeing collateral such as letters of credit and bonds, and participating in SOX compliance and audit activities.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with over five years of risk management, accounting, or finance experience to impact a leading global hospitality brand. Candidates with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, enterprise financial systems such as Oracle or SAP, and enterprise risk management platforms like Ventiv or Origami will find this environment rewarding and challenging. The ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders is essential. Familiarity with insurance products is preferred but not required. Hyatt fosters a culture emphasizing empathy, inclusion, integrity, and respect, providing a supportive platform for career growth and personal development.

Hyatt offers a competitive salary range of $98,600 to $128,000 plus an annual bonus, dependent on experience and qualifications. Employees benefit from flexible work schedules, well-rounded corporate benefits including paid time off, health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401K with a company match, complimentary hotel stays globally, wellness initiatives, and family assistance programs. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a company dedicated to care and excellence, where your expertise in risk finance can drive meaningful impact in one of the world's premier hospitality organizations.
