Job Description
Baptist Health stands as the region's largest not-for-profit healthcare organization, proudly serving the communities of Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. With a robust network of 12 hospitals, more than 29,000 employees, 4,500 physicians, and 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices, Baptist Health provides comprehensive and compassionate medical care to a diverse population. The organization is renowned for its internationally recognized centers of excellence in cancer treatment, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, as well as neurosciences. Driven by a faith-based mission of medical excellence and supported significantly by philanthropy, Baptist Health consistently delivers high-quality healthcare services. The system's excellence is further exemplified by its recognition in Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For for 26 consecutive years and its distinction as the most awarded healthcare system in South Florida in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings, earning 63 high-performing honors.
What truly distinguishes Baptist Health is its commitment to its people. The organization fosters an environment where personal connections among colleagues transcend the workplace, and meaningful relationships are cultivated with patients and their families. Staff members often share experiences similar to those of their patients, which strengthens their empathy and dedication to providing compassionate, quality care. The culture at Baptist Health is deeply rooted in purpose, ensuring that each team member contributes significantly to making a positive impact in the lives of those they serve. This collective effort is summarized in their philosophy: when it comes to caring for people, they are all in.
The position at Baptist Health involves responsibility for implementing and managing the internal risk management program. This critical role focuses on developing, executing, and evaluating strategies for loss prevention and loss control to limit adverse incidents and reduce injuries among patients, employees, and visitors. The role also aims to mitigate the financial impact of such incidents on the hospital system. Ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations related to risk management is a key component of the position, including the investigation of all allegations of sexual misconduct in accordance with organizational policies and statutory requirements. Furthermore, the risk manager leads efforts towards process improvements that diminish medical and healthcare errors and other factors contributing to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Leadership responsibilities include conducting safety assessments, Failure Mode Effects Analyses (FMEA), and Root Cause Analyses (RCA). The position requires educating leadership, staff, and physicians about systemic process factors that can contribute to healthcare errors, ultimately fostering a safer and more effective care environment.
This role offers an estimated salary range of $102,570.20 to $136,418.37 annually, dependent on experience. Baptist Health emphasizes comprehensive support for employees through career growth opportunities, extensive health and wellness resources, wellness programs designed to reduce medical plan deductibles, tuition reimbursement, and a host of other benefits. The organization is dedicated to fostering long-term careers built on meaningful impact and continual professional development, aligning with its mission to care for both employees and patients alike. This is a full-time, highly impactful role ideal for professionals dedicated to healthcare excellence and risk management in a dynamic and supportive environment.
