With approximately 5,000 employees and 13 production locations across the United States, Danone offers a dynamic and vibrant work culture where innovation, sustainability, and quality are top priorities. Known for some of the world’s best-known brands such as Activia, DanActive, Danimals, Dannon, Evian, Follow Your Heart, Happy Family Organics, International Delight, Light + Fit, Nutricia, Oikos, Silk, So Delicious Dairy Free, STŌK Cold Brew Coffee, Too Good & Co™, and YoCrunch, Danone delivers a diverse product portfolio that caters to the growing needs of health-conscious consumers. The company is proud to be the world’s largest B Corp, reflecting its outstanding commitment to social and environmental responsibility, as well as its mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible.
This role is situated within Danone’s Quality & Food Safety (QFS) organization and plays a pivotal role in supporting the Design-to-Deliver process for new products and manufacturing processes. The Manager, Quality in Design is tasked with leading the quality and food safety oversight during the industrialization and commercialization phases of new product development. This includes ensuring that product formulas, manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality standards consistently meet both internal company requirements and external regulatory food safety standards. As a vital QFS partner, this position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Research & Innovation (R&I), Commercialization, Procurement, Environmental Health and Safety, Sustainability, Regulatory, Project Management, and Operations. The goal is to guarantee that products brought to market uphold Danone’s stringent quality and safety benchmarks.
Key responsibilities of this role include representing QFS on project teams, coordinating quality and food safety efforts, and identifying and mitigating potential risks by applying scientific principles and technical expertise. The Manager will lead root cause analyses and facilitate corrective and preventive actions to address and resolve quality concerns effectively. Additionally, this position requires strong project management skills to comply with company processes and ensure that project milestones are met on time. The Manager will also drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to optimize processes and product performance.
The role demands excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, as well as the ability to work effectively in a matrix organizational structure. With an estimated 25% travel requirement, this hybrid position offers a flexible work environment where collaboration takes place both remotely and onsite, typically requiring the employee to be present in the office at least three days per week.
The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $105,000 USD annually, based on factors such as experience, location, and market conditions. Danone further supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, 401(k) plan options, wellness programs, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, flexible time off, and paid parental bonding leave. This detailed compensation and benefits structure highlights Danone’s commitment to employee well-being and professional growth.
