Job Description

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is a well-established and reputable electrical contractor known for delivering high-profile and complex projects since 1954. With over 70 years of experience, CEI has built a legacy of integrity, innovation, and quality workmanship. As part of Quanta Services, the largest employer of skilled craft labor in North America, CEI offers exciting opportunities in the commercial, data center, and energy sectors. The company is recognized for its commitment to safety, employee development, and fostering a collaborative culture where every team member plays a critical role in the organization’s success.

The Project Safety Manager position at CEI is a pivotal role designed to uphold and advance the company’s unwavering commitment to safety. This role focuses on supporting project teams in cultivating and maintaining an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC) by developing and enforcing comprehensive Project Safety Roadmaps and Site Safety Plans. The Project Safety Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring all project activities comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations, particularly within the specialized fields of data center and energy projects.

This role requires hands-on involvement in safety leadership, including generating Total Case Incident Reports and conducting rigorous incident and injury investigations. The Project Safety Manager collaborates closely with production leadership and project management teams to facilitate effective weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks, ensuring continuous safety education and awareness among all employees.

The successful candidate will be experienced in auditing and monitoring both CEI and subcontractor compliance against applicable standards, regulations, and project-specific safety requirements. They must possess a deep understanding of the electrical industry consensus standards such as NFPA, NESC, ASTM, and ANSI. OSHA 30 certification is required, and additional safety certifications, including BCSP CHST, are highly valued.

Working primarily on-site or in office settings across various U.S. time zones, the position offers a salary range of $95,000 to $125,000 with eligibility for an annual performance bonus. CEI emphasizes a Safety First culture where safety is not just a behavior but a state of mind — one that is integrated into every project, process, and business decision.

Beyond the technical safety responsibilities, the Project Safety Manager will benefit from professional growth opportunities such as co-facilitating safety training, gaining direct experience with field personnel, and influencing site-specific safety initiatives. This position offers a dynamic work environment that involves indoor office work as well as outdoor construction jobsite settings, including physically active duties like walking, climbing, and occasional lifting. This role is instrumental in reinforcing CEI’s reputation as a leader in safety excellence within the construction and electrical contracting industries.
