Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector in Melbourne, Florida, is seeking a skilled Program Manager 2 to serve as the Supplier Management Team (SMT) Lead within the Air Vehicle Subsystems Integrated Product Team (IPT). This pivotal leadership role involves managing supplier relationships and overseeing the delivery of hardware and software solutions crucial to various aircraft fluids subsystems. The primary responsibility is to coordinate and lead the supplier management process, including evaluating the programmatic and technical trade space, conducting requirements analyses, managing risk assessments, recommending vendor selections, and overseeing procurement and supplier performance. The SMT Lead will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams that include engineers, subcontract administrators, supplier quality assurance specialists, and logistics professionals to ensure timely and high-quality program execution.

This role demands exceptional project management and cross-functional coordination skills, the ability to handle complex supplier oversight responsibilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and diverse assignments. The SMT Lead will manage earned value metrics for material control accounts and coordinate all phases of supplier engagement from planning and proposal evaluation through production, testing, delivery, and sustainment. Additionally, the candidate will manage supplier documentation review, ensure compliance with subcontractor data requirements, report supplier status to program leadership, and oversee waiver and discrepancy resolution processes.

Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
  • minimum of 7-10 years of related professional or military experience
  • must be able to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree and 10 years or bachelor of science in STEM and 9 years of related experience, or master's degree and 8 years or master of science in STEM and 7 years of related experience
  • experience includes professional and/or military experience related to project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, or business management
  • ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain a final adjudicated government secret clearance
  • experience managing suppliers as part of government/DoD contracts
  • experience with multiple contract types such as fixed firm price and cost plus incentives fee
  • requirements development and flow down
  • technical evaluations of proposals
  • CAM/EV training
  • repair management, DMSMS evaluations, MRP requirements
  • familiarity with aircraft or spacecraft systems/subsystems

Job Duties

  • coordinate the efforts of the supplier management team including engineers, subcontracts administrator, supplier quality assurance representatives, logistics engineers, schedule planner, and cost/material planner
  • manage earned value of material control accounts
  • coordinate and manage execution of all phases of supplier performance including planning, proposals, new capability development, production, testing, deliveries, and sustainment
  • conduct or coordinate review of supplier documentation such as technical evaluations of proposals, acceptance test procedures, cost and schedule reports, software version description documents
  • report supplier status to program managers, GSC managers, and IPT management
  • manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting process
  • verify that end item data packages and subcontractor data requirements list items are reviewed and dispositioned
