Job Description

The hiring entity is CHRISTUS St. Vincent, a notable healthcare provider known for delivering high-quality medical services across various specialties. The role open is for a Clinic Manager at a Level II Clinic within the CHRISTUS St. Vincent Clinician Group (CSVCG). Level II Clinics typically involve moderate complexity, handling three to six providers, numerous patient visits, and revenues, supported by six to ten full-time equivalent staff members. This position is full-time, with a standard weekday schedule of 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. The Clinic Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the overall operations, performance, and success of the clinic. This includes directing day-to-day functions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

The Clinic Manager will work collaboratively with clinic leadership, providers, and staff to develop and implement programs that enhance quality care, optimize patient and provider satisfaction, and maintain strong financial performance within budget targets. Supervisory responsibilities include selecting and mentoring staff who demonstrate initiative, innovation, and enthusiasm. The manager fosters a workplace culture characterized by clear roles, accountability, and empowerment, encouraging staff to perform at their best. Operational excellence is driven by establishing stability, minimizing process variance, and continuously improving clinical and administrative functions.

This role demands expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, patient service delivery, coding, billing, compliance, and staff training. The Clinic Manager oversees policy development, organizational communication, and customer service resolution. They coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration, promote continuous improvement initiatives, and manage resources such as clinical equipment and space allocation. Strong leadership skills are essential for managing performance evaluations, training programs, and integrating organizational policies to align with the CSVCG and CHRISTUS St. Vincent Healthcare mission. This position ensures that all clinic activities support overall organizational goals while maintaining a focus on community health needs and regulatory compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or clinical degree required or clinic management experience considered
  • Current NM RN License and BLS certification required for RN candidates
  • Certified Medical Office Manager (CMOM) certification preferred
  • Minimum four years of diversified medical practice experience including at least one year supervisory experience or three years supervisory experience in inpatient hospital unit
  • One year experience as CSVMG Assistant Manager may substitute for required experience
  • Able to work independently using judgment and discretion
  • Possess excellent communication, leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of budgets, financial processes, and decision making
  • Familiar with CPT/ICD-10 coding and Medicaid, Medicare, commercial billing procedures
  • Knowledge of CHRISTUS St Vincent and CSVCG policies and procedures
  • Skillful in common computer technology for preparation of reports and correspondence
  • Knowledge of office management and administrative procedures
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong physician and leadership relationships
  • Capable of leading and directing a team creatively and autonomously

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or clinical degree preferred
  • Clinic management experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Certified Medical Office Manager (CMOM) preferred
  • Current NM RN License and BLS certification required for RN candidates
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial decision-making
  • Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding and insurance billing procedures
  • Knowledge of CHRISTUS St Vincent policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in common computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of office management and administrative procedures
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with healthcare professionals
  • Experience in independent judgment and discretion with creativity and autonomy

Job Duties

  • Maintain medical records administration complying with state and federal regulations
  • Improve satisfaction among patients, physicians, staff, and administration
  • Coordinate TJC accreditation activities and maintain updated policies
  • Manage billing and coding procedures ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Monitor patient services to adjust resources and space allocations
  • Oversee ordering of clinical equipment and supplies
  • Review and update internal policies and procedures
  • Track and communicate performance goal variances to relevant stakeholders
