The Physician Assistants Manager for the Inpatient Department of General Surgery at Evanston Hospital is an exciting leadership opportunity within Endeavor Health. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly pay range between $72.92 and $102.08, depending on the candidate’s expertise and experience. The role involves managing clinical and business operations of the inpatient general surgery physician assistants team. Key responsibilities include budgeting, performance management, staffing oversight, and leadership representation in hospital meetings. The manager enforces Endeavor Health's policies and procedures and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires maintaining clinical duties while leading personnel to meet best-practice standards effectively. The Physician Assistants Manager is accountable for professional development initiatives such as workshops and in-service programs, as well as overseeing accurate billing and collection efforts. Collaboration with physician leads and hospital executives supports care standards and strategic planning. The role operates primarily during regular business hours Monday through Friday but requires occasional off-shift or on-call duties and travel to other NorthShore sites. This position offers a unique blend of clinical practice leadership with operational and financial management responsibilities. Candidates will work in an integrated healthcare setting dedicated to providing outstanding patient care and continuous improvement within a supportive team environment.

Job Requirements
- Licensed physician assistant in the state of Illinois
- Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
- Completion of Master’s level program
- BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum 5 years clinical practice experience
- Strong communication skills
- Project management proficiency
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams
- Experience in budget development and financial proformas
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites
- Ability to work Monday through Friday with occasional off-shifts or on-call duties
Job Qualifications
- Physician assistant licensure in the state of Illinois
- Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License
- Completion of Master’s level program in specialty area
- BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum 5 years of clinical practice as a physician assistant
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project management skills with initiative
- Ability to work productively in a diverse team setting
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and financial evaluations
- Preferred 2 years of supervisory experience
Job Duties

- Maintain awareness of federal, state, and local laws applicable to job responsibilities
- Enforce Endeavor Health policies and procedures
- Maintain clinical responsibilities and provide patient care
- Manage personnel for surgical physician assistants ensuring adherence to best practices
- Organize professional development events and workshops for physician assistants
- Oversee billing submission and improve collections for PA services
- Collaborate with Physician Assistant Lead to ensure care standards
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements including Magnet, JCAHO, and HIPPA
- Develop and monitor practice budgets ensuring financial goals are met
- Collaborate with executive team, physicians, and Lead PA on strategic operational planning
