Job Description
Located in West Texas, this distinguished 600-plus bed non-profit health system is a powerhouse in regional healthcare, anchored by a prestigious Mayo Clinic Care Network membership. Known for its excellence in specialized regional trauma and heart care, this system serves as a unified provider, offering a continuum of advanced medical services complemented by a strong commitment to community trust and patient-centered care. The organization distinguishes itself through its clinical excellence, robust quality and safety scores, and a culture that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across its expansive service lines.
The role of Manager Physical and Occupational Therapy in this Acute Rehabilitation service line is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a dynamic healthcare professional passionate about driving high-performance care and championing life-changing patient outcomes. This position involves guiding a tightly integrated team spanning physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology, supporting complex inpatient rehabilitation and coordinating seamless transitions of care. Operating with advanced clinical tools—such as robotics, AI-enabled decision support, virtual care extensions, and streamlined electronic health record workflows—this role is designed to empower leaders who envision excellence and foster a culture of innovation, safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
As the Manager, you will lead the development and execution of evidence-based therapies accelerative of recovery across neurologic, orthopedic, and cardiopulmonary populations. With respectful, collaborative partnerships with physicians, case management, social work, pharmacy, and frontline nursing teams, you will champion team cohesion and accountability to drive measurable functional gains, ensure accreditation readiness, and optimize patient throughput and satisfaction. The support includes mentorship pathways, transparent career ladders, education benefits, simulation and professional development resources, and modernized facilities geared toward fostering clinical leadership excellence.
This leadership position offers a unique blend of responsibilities that include staff scheduling and productivity optimization, standardizing documentation and order sets, coordinating safe discharge processes, and enhancing interdisciplinary communication through huddles and data-informed quality improvement initiatives. The role is backed by a seasoned Director of Rehabilitation Services, providing robust administrative and operational support to ensure a smooth and strategic management experience in a high-acuity environment renowned for specialty services.
Situated in a region known for year-round sunshine, wide-open skies, and abundant recreational opportunities such as hiking, biking, paddling, and camping, the location offers an attractive lifestyle. The area boasts a low cost of living with diverse housing options ranging from historic districts to new suburbs, short commute times, and a thriving economy supported by healthcare, education, energy, technology, and entrepreneurship sectors. Families will appreciate strong educational institutions, abundant parks, youth sports, and vibrant cultural experiences including concerts, rodeos, murals, museums, and farm-to-table cuisine.
Additionally, the region provides excellent connectivity through reliable air travel, clean, dog-friendly neighborhoods, an active fitness culture, inclusive civic and faith organizations, community festivals, and expanding digital infrastructure. A favorable tax and regulatory environment, combined with a balanced lifestyle that values privacy, space, and community spirit, make this an ideal destination for healthcare leaders seeking both professional growth and personal fulfillment.
Competitive compensation packages featuring performance incentives, relocation support, comprehensive health and retirement benefits—including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, disability and life insurance, tuition assistance, and continuing education support—complement this role. For those interested in stepping into a leadership position that balances operational and clinical excellence with community impact and personal well-being, this opportunity promises a fulfilling next chapter in a rewarding career trajectory.
