The Manager of Philanthropy Events at Canine Companions plays a crucial role in advancing the organization’s fundraising goals through the strategic planning and execution of impactful events. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing major events such as galas, graduations, volunteer appreciation gatherings, and other mission-related activities within a designated region. As the regional events lead, this role involves collaborating closely with both regional and headquarters leadership to align event strategies with the broader organizational goals. This role demands a dynamic and experienced professional who can not only plan and manage comprehensive event operations but also inspire and lead volunteers and staff. The Manager Philanthropy Events will work on securing financial and in-kind contributions by cultivating relationships with corporate sponsors and auction donors, making them integral to the organization’s fundraising success. Additionally, this person will represent Canine Companions in community engagement efforts, serving as an ambassador to increase visibility and support for the organization’s mission.

Job Qualifications

- Minimum of 2 years event planning experience preferred
- Experience in event planning management is advantageous
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality public relations non-profit or related field or equivalent experience
Job Duties
- Plan coordinate organize and lead regional fundraising events including galas graduations and volunteer appreciation gatherings
- Manage all event logistics such as venue selection catering entertainment decor and audio visual requirements
- Oversee volunteer training and performance evaluation including recognition and thank-you communications
- Lead and support event committees and volunteers to enhance participation and revenue
- Develop and manage event communications and update website and sponsor materials
- Identify solicit and steward sponsors and donors including sponsorship agreements and fundraising support
- Create maintain and manage documentation agreements and reports for events and volunteer activities
