The Pharmacy Technician Manager role at PIH Health is a vital leadership position within the pharmacy department. This role involves close collaboration with the Pharmacy Management Team to ensure pharmacy staff are thoroughly trained on departmental processes, policies, and protocols within the scope of pharmacy technician practice. The manager is tasked with overseeing ongoing performance assessments and working alongside the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to achieve departmental and hospital objectives, including adherence to regulatory requirements and maintenance of patient safety. The manager’s duties expand to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of workflow processes, routinely updating policies, procedures, and job descriptions as necessary.

In addition to training and assessment responsibilities, the Pharmacy Technician Manager schedules pharmacy residents, students, and interns, coordinating with the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator to assign appropriate pharmacy technician preceptors. The role also includes compiling reports, completing assigned projects by the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Operations Manager, and chairing the Automated Dispensing Cabinet meetings. Active participation in other departmental meetings and conducting in-services as assigned also form part of this comprehensive role.

The manager oversees several critical technical and performance systems within the pharmacy, including Automated Dispensing Cabinets, WiFi temperature monitoring systems, pharmacy systems databases, and strategic performance management related to pharmacy events. They also handle billing reconciliations alongside the Finance Department and collaborate on updates, downtimes, and system implementations to enhance pharmacy operations. This position entails responsibility for annual performance appraisals of inpatient pharmacy messengers, technicians, and pharmacy interns, ensuring high standards are maintained across the team.

Located at 12401 Washington Blvd, the position offers a competitive salary range of $45.63 to $68.40 per hour and operates on day shifts.
