It stands as one of the city’s premier cultural institutions and is one of the largest real estate owners in the downtown area. Dayton Live is dedicated to enriching the community through the arts, offering a diverse range of performances and events annually. They present more than 300 performances each year catering to various interests and age groups, including touring Broadway shows, comedians, concerts, films, and family-friendly entertainment. The organization operates and maintains several renowned venues including the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, Victoria Theatre, the PNC Arts Annex, and the Metropolitan Arts Center, which houses The Loft Theatre. Additionally, they own and operate The Arts Garage, further supporting the vibrant arts community in Dayton.

The Performance Bar Manager at Dayton Live plays a critical role in delivering exceptional food and beverage services across multiple venues. Reporting to the Director of Event Sales and Service, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising concession and retail operations at locations such as the Schuster Center, Victoria Theater, Loft Theater, and PNC Arts Annex. The role ensures smooth inventory and quality control, manages staff and volunteer teams, and oversees the ordering and supply management necessary for successful event operations. This manager is also charged with maintaining and managing the point-of-sale system (Toast POS), training staff on proper cash handling procedures, and guaranteeing that all events, whether ticketed or private, receive accurate and timely food and beverage setups.

Additional duties include acting as a Bar Captain when needed, supporting the Food and Beverage team to ensure profitable and successful events, managing volunteer communication and retention through Better Impact volunteer software, and fostering a safe, positive, and teamwork-oriented work environment. This role requires developing and implementing ongoing training and development initiatives for employees. The Performance Bar Manager also manages operational equipment such as radios for key bar staff, maintains cleaning supply stocks to uphold health standards, and completes financial closing processes accurately and on time. The position demands a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to maintain high service quality, efficient operations, and a memorable guest experience. This is a dynamic role suited for candidates with food and beverage management experience in performance venues or similar environments. The employment type and salary are typically aligned with the not-for-profit sector and competitive within the local market. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Dayton’s thriving arts scene while developing a robust operational skill set in hospitality management within a culturally rich environment.
