Recently, the University of Miami has forged a long-term partnership with Legends Global, a premier global partner known for delivering integrated solutions to the world's greatest live events, venues, and brands. This strategic alliance empowers Legends to manage various crucial aspects of the Miami Hurricanes athletics department, including ticket sales, customer service, digital marketing, corporate partnerships, annual fund solicitation and engagement, ticket operations, and multi-media rights opportunities. Beyond sports, Legends also plays a key role in creating campus-wide strategic partnerships that enhance the university’s brand and outreach. This partnership enables unique and integrated sponsorship, ticketing, and hospitality options for a diverse array of fans, donors, local and regional businesses in South Florida, as well as national brands, thereby elevating the overall Hurricanes experience.

The role of Manager of Partnership Activation is a vital position within this exciting collaboration between the University of Miami and Legends Global. This role is primarily focused on the management, execution, and client servicing of all Miami Hurricanes partnership agreements. The Manager will work as the central liaison among multiple Hurricanes partners and their agencies, internal departments at the University, particularly Athletics, and various stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Partnership Activation, this position demands strong leadership, meticulous organizational skills, and a customer-centric approach to seamlessly activate partnership agreements. The successful candidate will ensure all engagement and activation activities are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with partner objectives.

This position requires handling a broad spectrum of responsibilities that include coordinating integrated partnership campaigns such as intellectual property rights, game day and in-market activations, brand messaging, and a range of media channels like radio, digital, social media, and print. The Manager will also manage hospitality and special events related to partner deliverables. An essential aspect of the role involves preparing and managing timelines, budgets, creative specifications, and detailed records within CRM platforms. The candidate will collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to develop proposals for renewals and new business acquisition while actively leading efforts for partnership renewals and upselling. Maintaining strong ongoing client relationships through meetings, communications, and tailored activations is critical to long-term success.

This position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and special events, and may include travel for campus and client engagements. Work is performed onsite at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of three years of high-level partnership activation experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in sponsorship sales, activation and/or solutions
  • Expert time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and G Suite
  • Familiar with digital and social media channels
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage budgets

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prepare, understand, and monitor activation budgets
  • Ability to adapt quickly and maintain high productivity under pressure
  • Willingness to work flexible and irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and special events

Job Duties

  • Act as the primary liaison for Miami Hurricanes partners to facilitate activation of integrated partnership agreements
  • Collaborate with Miami Hurricanes colleagues to fully understand each partner's marketing objectives and priorities
  • Proactively coordinate and manage all aspects of partnership implementation and fulfillment including IP rights, game day and in-market activation, brand messaging, media, hospitality, and special events
  • Prepare and communicate timelines, artwork, creative specifications, and implementation deadlines
  • Maintain detailed planning records using CRM system and manage budgets related to partnership execution
  • Assist with the development of marketing proposals and presentations for new business and renewals
  • Prepare and process documentation for client implementation and generate season end and year-end partnership summaries
  • Lead partnership renewal and upsell efforts collaborating with sales team and department head
  • Facilitate ongoing client engagement through meetings, conference calls, and written correspondence
  • Coordinate special events for client accounts from planning to execution
  • Manage ticket and hospitality implementation, scheduling and logistics for Miami Hurricanes clients
  • Contribute to the general success of Miami Hurricanes partnerships including positive representation of the brand
  • Travel as required for campus events and client meetings
