The Manager, Operations role at PeoplesBank Arena is a vital leadership position within OVG’s venue management structure. This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000 and includes comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan with company matching, and paid time off inclusive of vacation, sick days, and holidays. As the operational overseer, the Manager will be instrumental in executing the day-to-day management and strategic planning of front and back of house services, technical services, IT support, facility conversions, custodial services, and equipment inventory. The role requires close collaboration with the Director of Operations and other department heads to ensure seamless venue performance during events, including managing a variety of staff teams and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

The Manager, Operations will be responsible for developing and maintaining operating procedures related to critical facility functions such as housekeeping, technical support, security, and event conversion logistics. A key function of this role involves the management of the ice surface maintenance in line with American Hockey League (AHL) standards, ensuring optimal conditions for sporting events hosted within the arena. The Manager will also play a critical role in budget forecasting for staffing and operational expenses, policy review, and procurement recommendations to uphold operational efficiency and excellence.

  • ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize quickly

Job Duties

  • Manage all staff involved in housekeeping, conversion, and technical services
  • develop, maintain, and manage operating procedures relating to housekeeping, technical service, 24-hour facility security, and conversion
  • manage the day-to-day maintenance of the ice surface in accordance with AHL regulations
  • develop preshow department staffing estimates of expense for the Event Manager and Accounting
  • review and recommend day-to-day operational policies and procedures for the Operations department
  • research, review, and recommend equipment, materials, and supplies required for the Operations department
  • perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations
