The role in question is a critical managerial position responsible for overseeing all operations related to the development and production of company products, either directly or via subordinate supervisors. The manager will contribute to product strategy and research and development activities, ensuring high standards for production and quality control are maintained. Budgeting and cost control also fall within this responsibility, along with data management concerning product specifications and delivery timelines. This position involves the development of manufacturing processes addressing personnel, material, subcontracting, facility, tooling, and equipment needs. Ensuring that cost, quality, and delivery commitments are met is paramount. The manager will coordinate manufacturing operations with other organizational functions and suppliers to optimize resource utilization and production efficiency. Moreover, the role requires continuous review of production and operating reports to identify and resolve operational issues quickly, minimizing costs and preventing delays. Administrative management of shop operations, including recordkeeping and reporting, is also essential. The role has substantial supervisory responsibilities, managing up to five subordinate supervisors who in turn oversee more than fifty employees in departments including Special Projects, Shipping and Receiving, Packing, Order Processing, Routing, Inventory, and Auditing. The manager is tasked with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal regulations. Duties also encompass interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, managing disciplinary actions, and addressing employee concerns.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least five years of warehouse operations management experience and a minimum of one year of cold storage experience. Experience in fast-paced, production-based environments and warehouse performance management is mandatory. Bilingual ability, specifically speaking Spanish, is a valued asset. The salary range for this position is $70,304 to $75,000, with adjustments possible based on market conditions and location. Job Duties

  • Provide input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products
  • Establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered
  • Provide guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs
  • Ensure all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment
  • Review production and operating reports and direct the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
  • Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports
  • Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives
  • Train and ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations
