Job Description

Fieldwork Brewing Company, established in 2015 in Berkeley, California, is an independent craft brewery renowned for its commitment to exceptional, authentic beer making and a dynamic lineup of fresh releases. Over nearly a decade, Fieldwork has expanded its presence throughout Northern California by creating community-centric locations that combine award-winning beer with exceptional hospitality. The company has cultivated a strong reputation for creating an inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy high-quality craft beer in a friendly and welcoming environment.

The Napa location of Fieldwork Brewing Company, which opened in 2017 inside the vibrant Oxbow Public Market and now operates out of the Annex building, offers a spacious outdoor beer garden, creating an ideal setting for both locals and visitors alike. This location pairs its signature craft beer with a thoughtfully curated wine list and non-alcoholic options. Currently, the establishment is preparing to relaunch its food program, which focuses on Detroit-style pizza and shareable menu items, enhancing the overall guest experience by offering both excellent beverages and tasty food choices.

This role caters to individuals who possess strong hospitality skills and a passion for guest service, requiring active participation in both beverage service and food operations. The position is available as part-time or full-time, non-exempt employment, paying $19 per hour with additional tip income through a pooled tip system. Tips vary depending on shift and business volume, offering a rewarding compensation system for dedicated team members.

The Manager-on-Duty role at Fieldwork Brewing Company's Napa site is crafted for a motivated leader who enjoys direct involvement in daily operations and values team collaboration. This role provides an opportunity to lead front-of-house operations, ensuring that every guest receives an outstanding experience aligned with the brand's high standards. The Manager-on-Duty acts as the face of hospitality during their shift, overseeing smooth communication between beverage and food services and supporting team members to deliver exceptional customer service.

Key aspects of this role include supervising team members, providing training, managing cash handling and tip reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with California’s Alcoholic Beverage Control and Responsible Beverage Service standards. The manager also plays a crucial part in maintaining food safety, sanitation, and occupational safety standards to create a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and guests.

This hands-on leadership position requires excellent communication, multitasking skills, and the ability to foster a positive, solution-focused work atmosphere. The Manager-on-Duty works closely with the leadership team to provide feedback on staffing, operations, and guest experiences, ultimately contributing to Fieldwork Brewing Company's continued success and growth in the Napa region. The role offers the chance to grow professionally within a respected craft brewery known for its dedication to quality, community, and hospitality excellence.
