The role available at Tire Max Tire is that of a Manager-in-Deck (MOD) - Store Manager. This role is crucial as it embodies the leadership and operational oversight of the store. The Manager-in-Deck is responsible for the overall performance of the market including both financial and operational aspects. The main focus is to establish and maintain exceptional guest services while maximizing sales and profitability. This position demands strong management skills, as it involves controlling expenses, human resource management, operating costs, and shrink.

Compensation for this position ranges from $50,000 to $80,000 annually, supplemented by commissions and bonuses. The Manager-in-Deck is an integral role and entails specific responsibilities in four main areas: People, Financials, Facilities, and overall Store Operations. In terms of People, the manager sets expectations, communicates regularly with employees, coaches and holds them accountable to achieve job responsibilities and customer service goals. They ensure policy compliance, participate in recruiting and hiring, and conduct employee performance evaluations.

Financial management duties include analyzing business trends, developing plans to meet or exceed sales and profit targets, reviewing invoices and reports to identify growth opportunities, and maintaining proper control over physical and financial assets. Store operations require the manager to uphold cleanliness and merchandise presentation standards, conduct equipment inspections and maintenance requests, and manage parts returns.

Tire Max Tire values experience and skills relevant to the automotive industry, particularly in leadership and management. Candidates are generally expected to have at least two years of management or business experience within the automotive field. Communication, team coaching, goal setting, and achieving sales targets are key qualifications. Although not mandatory, prior experience as an automotive technician is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required, or one must be obtained within 30 days of hire. The role involves working a minimum of five days per week, including Saturday.

Job Qualifications

  • proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales and profit goals
  • previous experience as an automotive technician or similar position preferred but not required
  • possess valid driver’s license or obtain within 30 days of hire date
  • ability to work a minimum of five days including Saturday

Job Duties

  • set expectations and communicate regularly with employees on job responsibilities, goals, training, development, and overall customer service
  • hold employees accountable for job responsibilities, training, and goals by coaching or counseling employees toward desired behaviors
  • ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures through meetings and store audits
  • recruit, interview, and hire new employees in partnership with HR

  • review invoices and daily reports to identify business growth opportunities
  • maintain proper controls over the company's physical and financial assets
  • follow standard closing procedures including timely deposit of checks and cash
  • ensure cleanliness of the store both front and back at all times
  • maintain best-in-class housekeeping and merchandising standards
  • conduct regular equipment inspections and request maintenance as necessary
  • ensure timely return of unused parts to vendors with proper credits forwarded to accounting
