The remote-based position of Manager of Technical Sales Specialists plays a critical role within Sartorius's commercial operations. This field-based leadership role requires overseeing the execution of technical sales strategies that involve delivering high-quality demonstrations, trials, technical validation, and workflow support to enhance opportunity progression and portfolio adoption in close collaboration with Central Sales teams. The ideal candidate is preferably located in Massachusetts or the Boston, MA area, emphasizing the importance of regional expertise and proximity to key clients. The Manager will be responsible for managing team execution quality, ensuring readiness and capability development, maintaining disciplined CRM practices, and facilitating seamless technical handovers. Key responsibilities include coordinating priorities to assure consistent and premium technical engagement, overseeing structured qualification processes, and ensuring on-time technical milestone completions that accelerate customer adoption and improve conversion rates. Additionally, the Manager will serve as a liaison between Account Managers and Business Unit stakeholders to strategically allocate resources and align messaging. This role demands a hands-on approach to understanding customer workflows, collecting competitive insights, and feeding actionable feedback into product management for portfolio enhancements. A significant portion of the role involves travel, with more than 50% dedicated to engaging with external customers. Job Requirements
- Master's degree in life sciences, biotechnology, engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum five years of experience in technical sales, applications consulting, or pre-sales roles
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- In-depth knowledge of scientific or technical environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems
- Willingness to travel over 50 percent
- Located in Massachusetts or Boston, MA area preferred
Job Qualifications
- Master's degree in life sciences, biotechnology, engineering, or related discipline
- Five or more years of technical sales, applications consulting, or pre-sales experience in a scientific or technical environment
- Proven hunter and influencer with strong technical depth and team leadership ability
- Strong understanding of workflows, applications, and portfolio across assigned solution areas
- Ability to interpret customer workflows, emerging needs, and competitive signals
- Proficiency in CRM systems and structured sales processes with strong documentation discipline
- Strong communication, consultative selling and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel more than 50 percent
Job Duties
- Lead delivery of high-quality demos, trials, technical validation, and workflow support
- Coordinate priorities and support skill development for consistent technical engagement
- Ensure timely and consistent technical validation to improve customer fit and conversion
- Oversee early-stage opportunity creation through structured qualification and timely engagement
- Maintain rigorous CRM documentation and data-driven commercial steering
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Business Unit stakeholders for smooth opportunity handover and aligned messaging
- Capture customer needs and competitive signals to provide feedback to Product Management
