The Executive Center Manager of Hospitality & Operations is a pivotal leadership role within the Villa Graziadio Executive Center. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this full-time, exempt position with an annual salary range of $70,304 to $75,000, is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of daily operations, event planning, and revenue growth activities at the Center. The Manager ensures that every aspect of guest services—from event intake to execution and invoicing—is handled with the utmost care and professionalism, aiming to provide a seamless and polished hospitality experience. This role requires strong operational leadership skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while fostering a positive, mission-driven workplace culture.

This Manager will lead by example, partnering closely with the General Manager to drive operational priorities and service standards aligned with Pepperdine’s mission. Key responsibilities include orchestrating a variety of events with meticulous attention to detail, managing guest concerns promptly and effectively, and collaborating across departments such as Facilities, IT, and Public Safety to maintain high standards. Additionally, the role entails supporting and advancing the center’s revenue-generating goals through client engagement, strategic business development, and marketing efforts including social media and promotional campaigns.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree, at least three years of professional experience in hospitality or event management, and demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. They are adept at problem-solving, embody professionalism and discretion, and are committed to upholding the ethical standards and mission of Pepperdine University. Flexibility in working various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required. Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

Job Duties

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of all events including intake, contracts, catering, audio/visual support, event set-up and breakdown, invoicing and payments ensuring a premium guest experience
  • Provide clear, proactive, and professional communication with clients, team members, stakeholders, and vendors ensuring an organized and seamless experience
  • Identify and resolve issues quickly with professionalism and attention to detail
  • Serve as primary escalation point for guest and client concerns ensuring timely resolution
  • Uphold highest standards of hospitality, communication, presentation, professionalism, and responsiveness
  • Partner with General Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure smooth effective day-to-day operations
  • Drive execution of operational priorities and service standards in alignment with leadership direction
  • Act as on-site or on-call operational lead in absence of General Manager
  • Provide direct oversight and coaching to Guest Services Coordinator
  • Coordinate with Facilities, IT, and third-party vendors to maintain excellent guest service and facility standards
  • Identify and resolve operational gaps with documentation, accountability, and follow-through
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, mission-centered workplace culture
  • Ensure compliance with University policies, local regulations, and health and safety standards
  • Support revenue growth through client engagement, relationship management, and business development
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of corporate, university, and external clients
  • Identify opportunities to increase occupancy and event bookings with General Manager
  • Partner with General Manager to develop and execute pricing strategy, event packages, promotions, and revenue optimization
  • Collaborate on and execute strategic marketing efforts including social media, email campaigns, website optimization, and promotional materials
  • Serve as primary point of contact during emergency situations ensuring leadership responsiveness and presence
  • Coordinate response efforts with Business Services division and University partners including Public Safety and Facilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
