The position of Manager of Event Services at the Shrine on Airline is a salaried, exempt role that holds significant responsibility in orchestrating the front-of-house functions for all events hosted at the facility. Reporting directly to the Shrine on Airline Director, the Manager of Event Services acts as the primary client liaison, ensuring seamless communication and execution of event requirements. This role requires a highly motivated, skilled professional with strong organizational and leadership capabilities to oversee event coordination, security supervision, crowd management, and vendor services.
As Manager of Event Services, the successful candidate will oversee planning, monitoring, and directing all operational aspects related to event delivery, including coordinating with clients and vendors, managing staff assignments, and ensuring onsite readiness. This role also demands proactive collaboration with marketing teams on social media initiatives and front-of-house promotions to enhance client engagement and facility branding. The Manager of Event Services will manage internal documentation such as staffing plans, cost estimates, work orders, and post-event reports to assist strategic planning and continuous improvement.
In addition to operational leadership, the Manager of Event Services maintains positive public relations by upholding the facility’s image and ensuring excellent customer experiences. The position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the diverse scheduling demands of hosted events. Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in facility management, combined with prior supervisory experience, are encouraged to apply. The role also values technological proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with facility coordination.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 1-3 years of experience with increasing levels of responsibilities in the facility industry

- experienced with PC Windows-based Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Job Duties
- Serve as the client's main point of contact for all assigned facility events
- collaborate with client regarding all event needs and requests including food and beverage, designated space(s), ancillary and vendor services, affiliates/exhibitors and related billing processes
- develop and distribute internal documents such as staffing, cost estimates, event work orders, information sheets and post event reports/action plans
- develop meeting agendas to be utilized with clients or vendors
- research, review, and recommend equipment, materials, and supplies required for event services and planning
- coordinate outside service needs with food and beverage contractor, decorators or vendors
- coordinate with the marketing department regarding front of house marketing and social media initiatives
- participate in inspections of the facilities to ensure readiness and compliance
- supervise all staffing for assigned events
- assist with special needs or requests for front-of-house arrangements such as opening of house and late seating
- make immediate decisions in emergency situations and communicate with users
- prepare reports and correspondence related to post event discussions
- develop institutional knowledge of facilities and ASM policies related to event activations
- serve as primary facilitator monitoring and executing external communications
- assist New Orleans downtown campus team with social media management
- organize and maintain facility photography database
- follow all training, policy and procedure requirements from ASM leadership
- assist in preparation of departmental budget and estimated revenues
- maintain proper image and generate positive public relations
- manage and complete event or facility-related projects as assigned
- perform all other duties as assigned
