Job Description

The Ohio Masonic Communities is a distinguished nonprofit organization that encompasses several residential communities dedicated to providing exemplary care and services, including the Browning Masonic Community in Waterville, Ohio, Springfield Masonic Community in Springfield, Ohio, and Western Reserve Masonic Community in Medina, Ohio. Alongside these communities, the organization also includes The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation and The Ohio Masonic Communities Resource Center. Rooted deeply in the Masonic values of service, charity, and community support, the Ohio Masonic Communities proudly serve as a trusted partner focused on fostering thriving environments for both residents and staff. With a profound history and commitment to these core principles, they ensure that their services not only meet but exceed the expectations of their residents, many of whom share connections to the Masonic tradition, although such an affiliation is never required for residency or employment.

Ohio Masonic Communities emphasize the importance of delivering best-in-class care and services, creating a supportive work environment where team members are valued and treated with the utmost respect. Their mission extends beyond providing residential care to fostering a culture where employees are empowered and equipped with training and opportunities to grow. They take pride in being recognized as an Employer of Choice and an Organization of Choice, underscoring their commitment to employee wellbeing and professional development.

The role of the Dining Service Assistant Manager at Western Reserve Masonic Community represents a pivotal position within this framework. This leadership role is instrumental in overseeing all aspects of the dining services department to ensure an exceptional dining experience for residents, families, guests, and associates. Success in this role requires a blend of operational oversight, culinary skill, and people management. The assistant manager is expected to lead, inspire, and mentor the dining services team, instilling a culture of outstanding customer service throughout the department.

Responsibilities include assisting with staffing decisions, training and mentoring waitstaff on service etiquette, participating in menu development, and ensuring the procurement of raw food and supplies. The role demands not only administrative and leadership competencies but also hands-on culinary ability, including preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items. The assistant manager sets a high standard for quality and presentation, ensuring that meals served to residents and guests are world-class and that catered events meet the highest expectations.

Additionally, the Ohio Masonic Communities provide competitive benefits to support their team members’ health, financial stability, and work-life balance. These benefits are available to both full-time and part-time employees and include medical, dental, and vision insurance with comprehensive coverage for preventative prescriptions, generous paid time off policies, extended illness reserves, paid holidays including floating holidays, financial assistance programs, life insurance, education assistance up to $5000 per year, discounted tuition with partner schools including Hondros College of Nursing, a 403(b) retirement plan with matching contributions, early wage access, and more. This robust benefits package reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting its employees as they provide unparalleled care to residents.

In summary, this position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with culinary and leadership experience to join a values-driven organization dedicated to excellence in senior living dining services. In return, the Ohio Masonic Communities fosters an inclusive work environment where employees can thrive professionally and personally, supported by a comprehensive benefits program and a culture of respect and service.
