Job Description

The Blood Connection is a vital non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives by providing a reliable source of blood donations to communities in need. Known for its commitment to community health and wellness, The Blood Connection operates blood drives and donor recruitment efforts with the goal of ensuring an adequate blood supply for hospitals and patients requiring transfusions. As a key player in the healthcare and blood banking industry, the organization values teamwork, dedication, and proactive service to deliver life-saving blood products efficiently and ethically. The Blood Connection is committed to supporting its employees while fostering growth, leadership, and innovation within the organization.

The position open is that of a Donor Resources Manager for the assigned division. This role intricately manages the Donor Resources Department with the purpose of aligning blood donation production opportunities with actual needs to meet organizational goals and operational efficiencies. The manager works closely with Account Managers and Donor Resources Recruiters, overseeing the planning, rebooking, and logistics of blood drives, ensuring schedules align with inventory needs and usage projections. This role requires regular assessment of staff performance, metrics management, and application of sound judgment to foster a productive, goal-focused team environment. Beyond administrative responsibilities, the Donor Resources Manager represents The Blood Connection as a role model, embodying the core values, ethics, and culture of the organization. This includes the capacity to handle challenging situations tactfully, achieving consensus among diverse stakeholders and promoting collaboration across departments.

The role has key administrative and managerial functions such as maintaining an awareness of trends in the blood industry, directing and motivating teams, analyzing data reports, and ensuring efficient scheduling. Working collaboratively with multiple departments, this manager oversees the attainment of monthly goals by tracking performance and assigning tasks appropriately to Account Managers and Recruiters. The position also involves recruitment duties including interviewing and selecting candidates for department positions while supporting leadership development within the division. A significant aspect of the role is engagement with technologies like the HemaTerra Technologies product suite and the promotion of HemaConnect donor recruitment software to enhance recruitment strategies through public relations, training, and presentations.

Recruitment responsibilities include developing innovative strategies to retain and manage sponsor organizations, performing quality checks on donor information systems, supporting customer service follow-ups, and conducting site visits to blood drives for quality assurance. The Donor Resources Manager is expected to continuously seek new, effective approaches to recruitment and operation with a willingness to challenge conventional assumptions to optimize outcomes. This role requires a blend of leadership, analytical skills, and interpersonal ability to thrive within a dynamic and mission-driven environment.

Benefits for employees include 30 days paid time off which can be used, cashed out, or rolled over, potential bonuses, tuition reimbursement, a 401k retirement plan, comprehensive health insurance covering medical, vision, and dental, healthcare and dependent care flexible spending accounts, short and long-term disability insurance, an employee assistance program, and basic life insurance.
