The Manager of Benefits at Drury Hotels will play a strategic and operational role in the development, management, and execution of the company’s health and wellness programs. This role is key in ensuring that Drury’s benefits offerings are competitive, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with broader business and talent management objectives. Located at the corporate office in St. Louis, Missouri, this role is responsible for overseeing several benefits areas such as medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, wellness, and related plans. The position involves working closely with multiple stakeholders, including brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and wellness partners to ensure high standards in service and execution.
The Manager of Benefits is expected to lead strategy development, continuously analyze trends, and incorporate regulatory changes into Drury’s benefits offerings while maintaining operational excellence in day-to-day administration. This individual will also manage the annual renewal and planning processes, including vendor negotiations and implementation. Analytical capabilities are essential as this role requires sophisticated data analysis, interpreting benefits utilization metrics, claims data, cost-driving factors, and vendor performance to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Additionally, the role requires ensuring compliance with a complex set of federal and state regulations such as ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and others relevant to a multistate work environment. The Manager of Benefits will also be responsible for enhancing employee engagement through effective communication about benefits programs and leading the open enrollment process to empower employees to make informed decisions about their benefits. Supervisory duties include leading the Benefits Administration team, fostering a collaborative work environment, and ensuring operational alignment with company goals.

Job Requirements
- bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration and strategy, preferably in a multistate environment
- strong working knowledge of health and wellness benefits, including medical and pharmacy plan design, compliance, and vendor management
- advanced analytical skills
- ability to interpret data and translate insights into action
- familiarity with benefits analytics, cost modeling, and vendor performance evaluation is a plus
- must be able to work at the corporate office in St. Louis, Missouri
- experience supervising a benefits administration team
Job Qualifications
- bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, or a related field
- master’s degree is a plus
- 5+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration and strategy, preferably in a multistate environment
- strong working knowledge of health and wellness benefits, including medical and pharmacy plan design, compliance, and vendor management

Job Duties
- develop and manage the strategy, design, and continuous improvement of health and wellness programs, including medical and pharmacy benefits
- evaluate emerging trends, regulatory developments, and innovative benefit solutions to enhance team member experience and manage cost sustainability
- oversee the day-to-day administration of benefit plans, ensuring accurate enrollment, eligibility management, and issue resolution
- oversee claims processing for STD and FMLA
- lead annual renewal and planning cycles, including data analysis, strategy development, vendor negotiations, and implementation
- manage relationships with brokers, carriers, PBMs, wellness partners, and third party administrators, ensuring performance, accountability, and service quality
- ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, State paid sick time, and Section 125
- analyze benefits utilization, claims data, cost drivers, and vendor performance to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
- develop and monitor metrics related to cost, participation, engagement, and outcomes
- support the development of clear, accurate benefits communications and education materials, including open enrollment resources
- lead open enrollment planning and execution, ensuring team members understand their benefits and can make informed decisions
