The Manager, Meetings and Events at Fidelity plays a pivotal role in delivering best-in-class event experiences for the firm's associates, clients, and prospects. This full-time position is tasked with orchestrating both in-person and virtual meetings and events, ensuring they align with and enhance business objectives. The manager acts as a project leader responsible for end-to-end event planning, including budgeting, timeline development, resource allocation, and vendor and speaker management. They are adept at balancing creativity with strategic planning, using their expertise to produce events that are engaging, professional, and impactful.

This role requires strong collaboration skills as the manager will regularly interface with various business partners such as sales, marketing, communications, and product teams to ensure event content, branding, and logistics are consistent with firm standards and goals. Additionally, the manager must demonstrate excellent communication, organizational skills, and adaptability to manage complex logistics and respond to shifting priorities effectively. Experience with event technology platforms, particularly Cvent and virtual event production tools like Zoom Webinar, is essential for success in this digital-first environment.

The position offers a competitive base salary range from $74,000 to $141,000 USD annually, with placement depending on experience, responsibilities, and location. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or at least 5 years of related work experience
  • Experience planning social and corporate events
  • Experience with event registration systems and event mobile app platforms, especially Cvent
  • Knowledge and experience with virtual event production
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and Zoom Meeting/Webinar
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. and work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours
  • Experience managing small to mid-size budgets
  • Fundamental knowledge of contractual language pertaining to meetings and events
  • Experience negotiating with vendors

  • Proven ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment

Job Duties

  • Serving as an event project manager, creating timelines, organizing planning meetings, collaborating with business partners to drive toward deliverables, and keeping partners informed
  • Consulting with senior management and colleagues regarding event strategy, objectives and program goals
  • making recommendations to achieve maximum impact for minimal spend
  • Collaborating with the marketing, communications and product groups to ensure appropriateness of branding, including presentation content
  • Designing engaging relevant event experiences that resonate with attending audiences and achieve key business objectives for internal and external audiences, including new and existing clients
  • Playing an integral role in all agenda content development and work with speakers on all logistical items
  • Developing success measures and evaluate all major events against objectives, recommending areas for improvement
