The role of Manager, Meeting & Events Management, is a key position within Mastercard’s Events Management team focused on creating and executing world-class client experiences through superior event planning, elevated hospitality, and innovative experiential design. This position is entrusted with leading the end-to-end management of high-profile events including executive meetings, Board of Directors events, gala dinners, and other curated programs. The Manager will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to develop event strategies aligned with business objectives and brand identity.

This position requires a highly creative and culturally savvy hospitality professional with deep expertise in the restaurant and events sectors. The ideal candidate should possess a refined aesthetic sensibility capable of navigating both cutting-edge trends and timeless design principles to craft unique and memorable experiences. The Manager must exhibit a balance of visionary creativity and operational excellence, leveraging technology and AI to enhance event planning efficiency, organization, and impact.

Based in Mastercard’s Purchase, NY office with a minimum of three days per week on-site, this position also involves domestic and international travel for site visits and event execution, including evenings and weekends during major programs. The Manager will have responsibility for managing event budgets, vendor negotiations, compliance, staffing logistics, and creating bespoke hospitality elements that enhance the Mastercard brand and set the standard for industry excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event management, business, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in event management or hospitality roles
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, high-profile events
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for restaurants, food culture, hospitality, experiential events, and luxury guest experiences
  • Knowledge of leading restaurants and culinary trends especially within NYC and global markets
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility with design and storytelling skills
  • Comfortable interacting with senior executives and VIP guests with professionalism and discretion
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally including evenings and weekends
  • Proficiency in event management software including Cvent
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, negotiation, and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt quickly to business needs
  • Commitment to innovation and use of AI and technology in event management
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours when required

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event management, business, or related field
  • Proven experience managing complex, high-visibility events with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines
  • Strong knowledge of luxury hospitality and current trends in the restaurant and events landscape
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and diverse teams
  • Proficient in event management platforms, including Cvent
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, vendor negotiations, and cost management
  • Demonstrated creative and strategic thinking with the ability to balance innovation and execution
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and AI tools enhancing event planning processes
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing challenges
  • Multilingual skills are a plus

Job Duties

  • Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to define event objectives and develop comprehensive project plans aligned with business goals and brand standards
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of high-touch meetings, executive dinners, and experiential events
  • Curate exceptional hospitality experiences, including identifying trend-setting restaurants, unique venues, culinary talent, entertainment, and culturally relevant programming
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in luxury hospitality, restaurant openings, experiential design, entertainment, and guest engagement particularly within NYC and specific global markets
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, agencies, global partners, and vendors to deliver seamless event execution
  • Manage all event logistics, including venue sourcing, site inspections, transportation, staffing, production, and on-site operations
  • Develop creative event concepts and attendee experiences that elevate the Mastercard brand and differentiate programs from industry standards
