The role of the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor at Baptist Health is a critical leadership position responsible for managing, planning, coordinating, and directing all activities within the laboratory department. This position ensures the smooth functioning of laboratory services, compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, and the highest level of operational efficiency. The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor will develop and interpret departmental policies, administer operational and capital budgets for the department, and assist with long-term planning related to equipment, personnel, and strategic initiatives that support the growth of the laboratory services. The role also involves maintaining accreditation status with organizations such as The Joint Commission (TJC), College of American Pathologists (CAP), and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

This full-time position offers an estimated salary range of $102,570.20 to $133,341.26 per year, depending on the candidate's experience. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Clinical Laboratory Supervisor certification
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Five years experience in laboratory with complete knowledge of medical technology theory and practice
  • Proficient in PC and laboratory information system applications
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • MBA or advanced healthcare management degree preferred
  • ASCP or equivalent certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage plan coordinate and direct all activities within the laboratory department
  • Develop interpret and apply departmental policies related to daily laboratory operations
  • Develop and maintain operational and capital budgets for the laboratory each fiscal year
  • Assist in long-range planning for equipment personnel and strategies supporting laboratory growth
  • Maintain accreditation status ensuring compliance with TJC CAP and local state and federal regulatory guidelines
  • Supervise laboratory personnel providing leadership and guidance
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and enforce safety protocols
