Job Description

Taco Bell is a renowned fast-food restaurant brand specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine, known for its bold flavors and quick service. As a part of Yum! Brands, Taco Bell operates thousands of locations across the United States and worldwide, committed to delivering quality food with exceptional customer service. The company values innovation, teamwork, and providing a positive experience to both guests and employees. Taco Bell has established itself as a leader in the fast-food industry by focusing on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and continuous growth opportunities for its workforce.

The Manager in Training (MIT) role at Taco Bell is designed as an essential leadership position, providing additional management coverage during operating hours while gaining hands-on experience to prepare for future managerial roles such as Restaurant General Manager. The MIT plays a crucial role in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably while upholding high standards of cleanliness, hospitality, product quality, and speed of service. This is a full-time position where the Manager in Training is expected to lead by example by directly engaging in operational tasks, training team members, and continuously improving the overall guest experience.

In this role, the MIT is responsible for maintaining excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, accurately taking orders, and ensuring that food and drink products are prepared and packaged according to Taco Bell’s quality standards. The role requires managing all areas of the restaurant, including food preparation, cash handling, cleanliness of both the front and back of house, inventory control, and compliance with safety regulations. The Manager in Training also supports employee development by coaching team members, managing shifts fairly, and consistently driving a positive work culture. Additionally, the MIT participates in hiring efforts and onboarding to build a strong and capable team.

The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, where the MIT monitors operational bottlenecks, manages labor efficiency, and helps meet financial objectives by analyzing sales, labor costs, and inventory expenses. A key part of the position involves responsibility for cash management tasks such as bank deposits, safe operations, and daily audits. The MIT works closely with the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) to ensure compliance with payroll and timekeeping policies while fostering a safe, respectful, and enjoyable workplace environment. This position offers a valuable career path with continuous learning and advancement opportunities within Taco Bell's management team.
