Job Description

Taco Bell is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain that specializes in Mexican-inspired cuisine such as tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. Founded in 1962, Taco Bell has grown into a popular and expansive franchise with thousands of locations worldwide. Known for its innovative menu items and commitment to customer satisfaction, Taco Bell is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., and it continues to set trends in the quick-service restaurant industry through its creative marketing and operational excellence. The company values a culture of teamwork, integrity, and leadership development, providing many opportunities for growth within its organization. Taco Bell restaurants aim to deliver high-quality food with fast and friendly service in a clean and welcoming environment, creating enjoyable experiences for its guests.

The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at Taco Bell plays a crucial leadership role by overseeing the daily operations of a single Taco Bell outlet. This position is designed for those who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and are passionate about delivering an outstanding guest experience while managing a team to achieve operational excellence. The RGM is responsible for all aspects of the restaurant's success, including maintaining high standards for cleanliness, hospitality, food quality, and speed of service. This role is hands-on and requires the manager to be actively involved in training staff, ensuring compliance with company policies, and stepping in during busy periods to support team members. The RGM is tasked with effectively managing costs such as food, labor, cash handling, and other controllable expenses, aligning with company goals and budgets.

An essential part of the role involves leading a team through coaching, counseling, performance appraisals, and development initiatives to maintain a motivated, well-trained workforce. The manager is also responsible for staffing decisions, hiring new employees, and creating schedules to ensure adequate coverage during all shifts. Maintaining a safe and compliant environment for employees and guests is a priority, which includes following food safety standards and local employment laws. The RGM ensures that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and that preventative maintenance procedures are adhered to.

Success in this role is measured through various operational metrics such as sales growth, labor management, cost control, customer service scores, and compliance audits. The general manager must be proactive in communicating with area coaches and other stakeholders to review restaurant performance and implement improvement strategies. Flexibility in working hours, a can-do attitude, and strong communication skills are critical to thriving in this position. This leadership opportunity not only demands operational expertise but also requires a commitment to fostering a supportive and positive work environment that encourages team members to excel and develop professionally.
