Job Description

Taco Bell is a well-known fast-food restaurant chain specializing in Tex-Mex cuisine, recognized for its flavorful menu items and quick service. Established as part of the global Yum! Brands portfolio, Taco Bell operates thousands of units worldwide, each focused on delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer experiences. Known for innovation and an energetic brand culture, Taco Bell emphasizes operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and community involvement. Taco Bell's restaurants accommodate a fast-paced environment that requires skilled management to maintain profitability and brand standards consistently. This opportunity is for the role of Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at one of Taco Bell's individual units. The RGM is responsible for the overall leadership and direct supervision of all restaurant operations. This includes managing the restaurant's financial performance, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, hospitality, accuracy, building maintenance, product quality, and speed of service. The position demands a hands-on approach where the RGM actively participates in daily operational tasks such as training employees, addressing guest service issues, and modeling appropriate skills and behaviors to staff members. This role is essential for achieving organizational goals by maintaining a productive, efficient, and profitable restaurant environment while fostering a positive employee and guest experience.

As a Restaurant General Manager at Taco Bell, you will oversee controllable costs like food, labor, and cash handling to ensure alignment with company budgets and guidelines. You'll drive positive sales growth through continuous improvement on metrics such as 5 Bells (a quality standard program), CORE (customer service excellence), speed of service, and food quality. Staffing is a crucial element of your responsibilities, requiring you to maintain adequate levels across all shifts and day parts and to manage performance appraisals and the hiring process for crew members, shift managers, and assistant managers. Coaching, counseling, and certifying your team are part of your ongoing duties to develop staff competency and ensure operational standards are met. Maintenance of cleanliness and compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations are expected, alongside adherence to employment laws and safety standards. Additional duties include equipment maintenance oversight, guest complaint resolution to foster repeat business, and providing timely feedback on restaurant operations to regional management.

Your success will be measured based on various performance indicators, including sales, labor costs, cash and controllable expenses, and compliance with Taco Bell’s operational standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about restaurant management and who enjoy leading teams in a dynamic work environment. The RGM position supports career growth within Taco Bell and the larger Yum! Brands company, offering a pathway to higher leadership positions while contributing positively to the company’s success and the guest experience.
