The role being offered is a pivotal managerial position within the restaurant. The Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for managing all functions of the restaurant and ensuring smooth operations during shifts where the General Manager is not present. The job pays between $17.50 and $18.50 per hour and is a full-time position demanding commitment, reliability, and leadership skills. The Assistant Manager oversees a staff ranging from three to fifteen employees, providing necessary on-the-job training and supervision to maintain high operational standards.

The Assistant Manager is entrusted with important responsibilities such as delegating ordering and inventory management for food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies with an emphasis on minimizing waste and managing costs effectively. The role demands hands-on involvement in forecasting food needs, supervising preparation and service of food, and ensuring that every customer experiences world-class service. Managing delivery logistics and optimizing delivery operations are also key aspects of this position.

Additionally, the Assistant Manager is responsible for executing opening and closing procedures, completing paperwork, maintaining cash drawer integrity, ensuring adherence to systems and procedures, and performing preventive maintenance on restaurant equipment and supplies. The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, along with the physical stamina to perform tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working long shifts of 50 to 60 hours per week including holidays, weekends, and overtime as business demands. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous restaurant supervisory or management experience preferred
  • strong math abilities in addition, subtraction, fractions, and percentages
  • ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • understanding of computer software such as Excel and Word
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Job Duties

  • Manages a staff of approximately three to 15 employees
  • provides on-the-job training for all employees
  • delegates and is responsible for the ordering, receipt, storage and issuing of all food, labor, equipment, cleaning and paper supplies for the unit to ensure a minimum loss from waste and theft
  • assists in the supervision of preparation, sales and service of food
  • forecasts food items
  • estimates what amount of each food item is needed
  • estimates what amount of each food item will be consumed per shift
  • supervises food preparation and service operations while on duty
  • assists Inshopper during rush periods to ensure the maintenance of restaurant efficiency
  • ensures that every customer receives world class customer service
  • routes deliveries and supervises drivers to maximize delivery business and speed
  • completes daily food preparation including opening procedures, meat and vegetable slicing and bread production
  • completes closing procedures
  • executes systems and procedures with 100% integrity and completeness
  • completes daily and weekly paperwork
  • responsible for 100% of the cash drawers at all times during the shift
  • audits previous shift’s systems and procedures for 100% integrity and completeness
  • completes preventive maintenance and upkeep on store's equipment and supplies
  • performs other related duties as required
