American Tire Depot is a leading automotive service company renowned for delivering exceptional tire and auto repair services with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. With a reputation for quality and reliability, American Tire Depot has become a trusted name in the automotive service industry, serving customers with a diverse range of services from tire sales to mechanical repairs. The company prides itself on fostering a results-focused, performance-driven team that plays a crucial role in shaping a superior customer experience and creating a positive work environment. American Tire Depot offers the benefits typically associated with larger organizations, complemented by unique perks that give them a competitive edge. These benefits include competitive hourly wages, commission and overtime opportunities, paid vacation and holidays, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and supplemental insurance plans, 401(k) with company match, employee discounts, referral bonuses, ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) reimbursement, and genuine career growth opportunities demonstrably evidenced by hundreds of team member promotions. The company highly values teamwork, accuracy, speed, and excellent service, encouraging every employee to perform at their best to uphold the brand’s high standards.
The Manager in Training (MIT) role at American Tire Depot is designed as a comprehensive leadership development opportunity, aimed at cultivating skilled leaders ready to step into store management or multi-unit leadership positions. This role is key to the company’s operational success and involves hands-on responsibility in managing daily store functions. As a MIT, you will lead from the front by opening and closing the shop, setting the daily strategy, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. You will be the ambassador of excellent customer service, greeting and advising guests, building estimates, explaining work clearly, and confidently closing sales. Acting as a vital link between technicians and customers, the MIT translates technical inspections into trusted recommendations, ensuring customer trust and satisfaction. This role also involves developing and coaching the team members, reinforcing company processes, celebrating successes, and addressing any performance gaps.
Operational duties include managing inventory and ordering, handling cash and point-of-sale (POS) systems, scheduling staff, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring compliance with OSHA and Environmental Health & Safety regulations. Additionally, the MIT covers shifts in the absence of the Store Manager, modeling high standards and leadership qualities every day. This role demands a proactive approach, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of experience in automotive service management or retail repair leadership, a solid background in service sales including tires, brakes, maintenance, or mechanical work, and the ability to lead and support a team under pressure. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a valid driver's license, the physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds, and open availability including weekends are also essential. Joining American Tire Depot as a Manager in Training not only offers a promising career path but also the opportunity to be part of a diverse and inclusive workplace that values respect and equal opportunity for all employees. If you are a self-starter who thrives on results, accountability, and growth, American Tire Depot invites you to apply and embark on a rewarding career journey with them.
