Job Description
Subway is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its fresh, customizable sandwiches and commitment to healthier food options. Established in 1965, Subway has grown into one of the world's most iconic and leading restaurant brands, with thousands of franchise locations worldwide. The company prides itself on its mission to provide better food choices while promoting better living and a sustainable planet. Subway emphasizes continuous improvement, not only in its menu offerings but also in its business operations and community impact. This dynamic culture makes it an exciting and rewarding employer for individuals seeking career growth in the foodservice and franchise management sector.
The Manager Franchise Performance (MFP) role is a pivotal position within Subway's franchise system, tasked with overseeing multiple franchise locations in the Baton Rouge territory and surrounding areas such as Houma and Lafayette. This role reports directly to the Director of Franchise Performance and focuses on enhancing the operational and financial success of the franchise portfolio. The MFP's responsibilities include managing franchise relationships, providing strategic business advice, and working closely with franchisees to meet key performance indicators and brand standards. This position requires an individual with strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and a passion for helping others succeed.
In this role, the MFP acts as a business consultant to franchisees, conducting thorough operational and financial assessments to identify growth opportunities and address challenges. They regularly review restaurant reports, audits, and sales data to provide customized guidance that improves restaurant performance and profitability. The MFP fosters accountability, coaching franchisees to set and achieve ambitious goals related to sales, customer traffic, and average check size growth. Additionally, the manager ensures that franchise locations comply with Subway's operational policies and food safety standards through regular territory visits, reporting, and recommendations.
Collaboration and relationship-building are essential aspects of the MFP role. The manager works closely with franchisees, internal Subway teams, and external partners to implement new initiatives, such as product launches, marketing campaigns, technology upgrades, and new restaurant openings. They serve as the franchisees' key advisor, offering support and motivation to enhance employee engagement and guest experiences, ultimately driving repeat business and reducing staff turnover. The MFP also plays a critical role in development activities like ownership transfers, remodel projects, and assessing franchisee expansion potential.
Professional development is encouraged within the role, with access to comprehensive training programs including Subway University, Cascade Training Calls, and monthly business reviews. This ensures that the MFP stays informed on industry trends, operational best practices, and is equipped to influence and support franchisees effectively. The position requires occasional travel within the region and offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute directly to Subway's continued growth and transformation in the competitive fast-food arena.
